Knicks · Magical Thinking . . . Doesn't Work (!) (page 1)

Malcolm @ 10/26/2016 9:31 AM

As I posted during the game last night, too many of the Knicks and their apologists are resorting
to fanciful, magical thinking.

If they just throw around ideas like "up-tempo" and "fast break" and "breaking down the defense"
. . . and start running up and down the court, making "brilliant" passes . . . then it will all come
together.

Just give it some time.

After all . . . Rose is an MVP, Anthony is an All-Star, and Noah is a DPOY (!) This is a "super team"
-- just gotta go out and do it.

COMPLETELY DELUSIONAL (!)

That's all nonsense.

You don't get something for nothing -- and the past is NOTHING.

Knicks need to put in the hard work to LEARN THE TRIANGLE.

If someone can't do that or doesn't want to do that . . . he needs to sit or leave.

The thing is: the Knicks now have the talent to be a very good Triangle team.

JUST DO THAT ALREADY, WILL YOU (!)

ACTUALLY, SOME KNICK PLAYERS WERE ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT PLAYING BETTER DEFENSE.

MAYBE YOU MISSED THAT.

nixluva @ 10/26/2016 9:41 AM
Your take is a bit arrogant. Do you assume you know more than the combined Basketball knowledge of Phil, Hornacek and Rambis? These are high level basketball minds. The issue has more to do with a new team, new coach and missed time together as a group for the starters.

So yes they fully intend to learn the offense and develop chemistry on both ends. We don't have fools and idiots running the team.

jrodmc @ 10/26/2016 9:42 AM
Nice hat though.
Moonangie @ 10/26/2016 9:48 AM
It's not about the Triangle. They will get better at executing half-court offense as they play more together. It will take some time to gel. And they need to do a MUCH better job of rotating on D, getting to their man quicker, protecting the ball, not being flashy or careless.

This is still a work in progress. Let's enjoy seeing if they can come together.

He once cut and badly disfigured his hands on the edges of a triangle, to this day he has to wear white gloves to conceal the scars.
