Knicks · Noah (page 1)

What a unique talent he is. I had a major concern that this starting group would lack any type of play making for one another. Rose simply is not a pure PG and i always had a concern with his fit with Melo and Porzingis. While i still do, i think Noah can somewhat neutralize that concern as they continue to build chemistry. I knew Noah could pass, but this guy is a point-center out there. I love how he hunts the rebound and pushes the ball himself. It will create a lot of opportunities on the break when guys learn how to feed off of it. Noah should never see big minutes, and Porzingis should command a lot of the minutes at center when Noah isn't in, but i do like the fit between Noah, Melo, and Porzingis. Lee will be fine, it is the Rose piece that we really need to connect. It will be interesting to see how the PG situation works out long-term. Hopefully Rose can put it together. Maybe Jennings is the PG of the future here. But at least in the meantime, Noah can act the part.
meloshouldgo @ 11/1/2016 10:41 PM
Noah is a pure PG, he just cant bring the ball up every posession
BRIGGS @ 11/2/2016 1:43 AM
Yeah If Im another team Id let Noah sit out there at 16 feet and let him do what he wants--hopefully hell shoot it but Ill deal with his passes. That way I can defend 5-4
Caseloads @ 11/2/2016 5:15 AM
wish noah would keep the defense honest by scoring 10 to 14 points per game. at least off of putbacks.
BRIGGS @ 11/2/2016 10:25 PM
Well we have a 70mm$ back up for the next 4 years.
StarksEwing1 @ 11/2/2016 10:27 PM
I like noah A LOT. However i dont like the length of the contract. The final 2 years will be tough

He is only going to play 24 mpg. He brings a lot to the table. Hardly a backup. No need to overreact.

No need to over react? Im not--hes been in a massive statistical downfall for years. This player is LIGHT years from his prime. Hes a back up player now--he shouldnt start. We need a player who will give us some points and stuff the interior D much better than Noah has(NOT) done

What good NBA player EVER plays 4 games in a row and avg 2 points on 33% shooting--name 1--you cant unless they are at the end of their careers. Phil Jackson bought this guy on what he was not what he IS.

Ben Wallace would be the answer to your question. But i get your point, just saying that Noah does so many other things on the floor. If he could score, he would have secured a max contract. We provides 24 quality minutes per game as a defender, rebounder, and distributor. He should not play more than that. He provides the leadership needed for young guys in the locker room which can't be qualified in minutes. You take the good with the bad with him.

Guy has a lot of heart. Cant take that away. But dont think he is a $70 Million dollar starting center. Sorry. But definately a guy you want on your team. As for the defense, was watching game highlights from last night and he got beat several times by over playing the guard position.

No doubt we overpaid for him, but that is the nature of free agency.

I think the bottom line is that Noah was a guy who scored 11-12 points a night in his prime--he cant come close to doing that consistently now. How does a team expect to get out to 110 when one starting player is averaging 2 points?

I thin k its pretty simple---Hornacek has to say to Noah--I need 8 points and 7 rebounds --you did it against Brooklyn in pre season quite nicely--thast the guy I need to see or I cant guarantee bigger minutes. We cant as a team ACCEPT 2 points from a starter

newyorknewyork @ 11/3/2016 12:24 PM
KP seems to have taken a step back defensively and rebounding it seems. Though its still early. Our frontcourt don't impose their will on teams.

We aren't going to be a really good team until KP is strong enough to slide over to center get 10+ rebs a game and back his man down in the post for easy buckets so teams have to fear the treat of that.

We also need better play from backup C, SF, PG.

over paid, did you see the recent contracts that have been signed..100 mill 4 yrs, noahs contract will be a bargain by next season. Dudes are getting 25 per, avg 9 points

BRIGGS @ 11/3/2016 12:58 PM
If Noah goes on one of his injury runs--we can see Oquinn and Willy playing C--which I think might be an improvement.

You said the same thing about Lopez last year. Sometimes we just need to let things play out.

NYKBocker @ 11/3/2016 1:59 PM
Noah will be fine. He is not the problem. Rose and to a certain extent Jennings is the problem. They need to look to set up other players first before looking for their shots.
Knixkik @ 11/5/2016 1:14 PM
Noah was awesome last night. He just needs to be aggressive on offense.
reub @ 11/5/2016 3:35 PM
O'Quinn was lazy getting back on defense one time and was promptly yanked never to return. I agree with that decision.

Looked good last night. Think if he keeps his man honest with 10 pts a night, he will be a nice impact. Again, lots of heart.
