Why not josh smith?

All of these guys are so desirable that nobody wants them.
Chandler @ 11/5/2016 8:20 AM
And for what it's worth ndour started out bad with us I. Summer league and then turned it around

I think JH likes the energy he brings. Now he just needs to channel that energy more effectively

Forget Josh Smith.

NDour is out there because of defense, he is quick enough and long enough to do a decent job covering stretch fours on the perimeter, and can stay with 4's and 3's who dribble penetrate. However he is raw, he has terrible hands and he is still trying to figure out where to be on the court. I think the idea is let him get some reps and see if he can improve while other guys are unavailable.

N'Dour also makes the extra pass, knows his role. Im glad the Knicks brought him back. Pass on Josh Smith, thats an Isiah move.

I would give him the break of saying it's probably more to do with nerves than anything as of now. He's obviously just a defensive guy and has great length but he's clearly gonna need floor time to kill those nerves.

People are so quick label a player good or bad at the start of the season. This is his 1st year in the league lets give him some time to figure things out. I believe the same goes for Kuz and Willy. We will just have to rely on the starers more than we would like until our young bench starts playing to their level.

Yeah it's really not fair to bash the young guys for looking a bit overwhelmed this early. Gotta give them some time to acclimate to the league and their new role on the team.

I agree from a defensive point, but i would like to see Kuz get some PT.

He will get plenty when we will have some bottom teams to play.
It was terrible mutchups for him in this games.
I do not expect him to play in upcoming game too.

Ndour just needs to drink 4 or 5 shakes a day to get his weight up. I'm not even sure he needs healthy protein shakes he just needs a regular mc'Ds shake. Lol.
fitzfarm @ 11/5/2016 4:03 PM
he also got screwed with some bad calls cause he is a rookie.... I really like Ndour's game I think in time he will pass lance in the rotation.... could see LT get traded at the deadline for peanuts esp if he keeps playing like garbage
arkrud @ 11/5/2016 4:07 PM
He can be Crowder-like over time.
2-3 years zo... will he be able to hold on to some burn?

I'm here with you on N'Dour. I really like him. He's struggling to find his nitch out there only getting sporadic PT but I agree--I think the potential's there for a better player than Lance Thomas eventually. Saw automatic PT with Lance out last night and I thought he had some good moments--committed some fouls but he was active defensively, prevented a layup with a hard foul, had a nice pass inside to Kyle O'Quinn. He didn't do anything to kill us out there, that's for sure. I'd hardly call this guy terrible. That's just not accurate..He's a good, active defensive presence, he'll crash the glass, and there's some real semi-untapped potential on the offensive end as well. Just needs to get more comfortable. The whole team does... Last night's game was a big step in the right direction. They all responded real well getting that win--got a lot of contributions from everyone and beat a solid team that got a big performance from their best player in their own gym. Real nice job.

I really like the potential of our bench. There's a lot of offense/defense versatility at several spots, depending what Hornacek and the team may need at any given moment: at backup 3, we have N'Dour for D/Kuz for O; at backup 4/5 we can go with Plumlee for D/Willy for O -- and this isn't even mentioning LT and KOQ who are ahead of those others in the rotation at both spots.

Agree. JH seems to evaluate talent well. Ndour is athletic and active. Once Knick players get to know his tendencies to cut and favorite spots on the floor, he will get more buckets. JH has made good calls on both Ndour and Holiday. They have separated themselves defensively and athletically from the rest of the bench.

Welcome to my church, man..Our bench is inexperienced and isn't ready to support where a healthy starting five can take us this season..We can run this starting five into the ground quickly or go out and get some help..If I were a team in the east projected to be just on the cusp of the playoffs, maybe 7th or 8th seed, I'll go get Josh Smith just to keep him away from the Knicks..

Agreed. The bench looks weak. Hopefully Kuz starts getting some minutes as his scoring can help things. Wouldn't mind spot minutes for Baker.
And Randle should be paying the Knicks a visit in the next few weeks is my bet.
