If we can make an upgrade without giving up too much im all for it BUT i dont want to trade picks or good young players. Realistically we arent expected to go far anyway. We need to keep building through the draft. With 3 picks next year we should be able to get more depth

From this list I would go with Kevin Martin.
We have more than enough talent. Our players need to work harder on defense and continue to work on getting the offense smoother. Our bench will develop. I don't think there is much that can be done until the summer anyway, but I think this team is close. We did not look bad playing Utah, we just need to work on the defense a little more.
Minutes are simply going to the wrong people in my opinion. More minutes should be going Willy and Kuzminskas simply. Willy has shown flashes of incredible potential and Kuzminskas has already been a handy scorer for us. Everyone is quick to point out transitional flaws of coming from Europe to the Nba but the only way to iron them out for the future is faith and strong roster spots. OQuinn and Thomas are disappointing to say the least so far so why not spice things up a little? Even throw Baker a bone with some good court time in the future. Hopefully we don't go throwing away what we have in Willy and Kuz in a classic Knicks move for immediate role players over the longer route.

I agree with everything you wrote give the kids a chance in willy and kuz... also i really like holiday watching him on defense is really fun .
in terms of trade for lance and oquinn could we get memphis to bite on a lance and KOQ for ZBO. I feel ZBO is a perfect fit and could really help willy and KP develop there low post game.

Nothing would help more than if the team defended. Too many plays where this team takes defensive plays off.
This is on Melo. He needs to step up as a leader. If he can't then Rose needs to. They have to value the defensive end more. Better effort and team work period.
I'm thinking back and I don't recall Phil teams ever making big trades to upgrade the bench in season. Those lakers teams always hung tough with the Samsung Walkers and Slack Medvendkos of the world in hopes that they would improve over the course of the season.
Someone brought up a good point...We are playing against the triangle in practice. But the entire league runs pick and rolls. Is it a coincidence that we suck against the pick and roll? or a lack of practice strategies. Seems like the offense should practice both offenses, which prepares the bench players for both systems.

Agreed. It's a strong draft too so its imperative we land a rotation player with the mid 1st round pick we will have.

I'm starting to think it's not the roster, it's the system. We kept saying we needed a real pg and coach, we got that , and we still look suspect.
The Olympic roster would produce a .500 record if they had to play in the triangle

News Flash - we haven't been running triangle on offense and you don't run the triangle when you are on defense.
Our O has been fine our D is league worst.

You don't improve by running out very poor defenders and both Willy/Kuz are very poor defenders.

I wouldn't bury Kuz. I really like how he looked the few mins. he played against Utah. He looked real into it on both ends. I'm telling ya fellas, before we even entertain a trade for Nerlens Noel or anyone else, we need to make sure we don't have any answers in-house with guys like Willy, Plumlee, N'Dour, Kuz and Baker. We already know what KOQ and LT are about and they're merely OK--let's see if any of these other guys could be higher end.

What about KP? He has been lost defending any stretch 4. And it has translated to poor offensive games. Agree defense has been horrid. But we have had decent games with good starts followed by terrible second unit play. Was watching a Lakers game and Lou Williams and Clarkson played better than 1st unit. All they have to do is sit Rose and Kp early, then bring them back in when you sit melo,noah, and lee. I notice Noah only played 20 min in the last game, not sure why since I only saw the last 4 min of the game.
It's funny how we are always trying to match up and teams should be trying to match us.
