Millsap slams Hawks for losing 'to one of the worst defenses in the league'

First of all, the Hawks are not all of that, and for this guy to disrespect us and act as if we are dead last in the nba, or conference or even the division is enough to circle the date for the rematch.
Yeah I get it, our defense is suspect, but to give the team no credit, I hope that quote is in bold print on everyones lockers
Hey, its a diss but if ATL has championship aspirations then "Millsap" is right to call them out.
Maybe they went out the night before?
Im sure knicks are plenty upset. Do they need "Motivation"? Maybe.
Perhaps if they went to see "Hamiliton" the cast can call them out as well? That will get them good!

He's just used to us sucking the hawks are off to a quick start but in actuality they are a borderline lottery team. lets look at the match ups in the starting 5
d rose vs Dennis shroder: rose 10 times better
Lee vs korver : lee overmatches korver and is the better overall player
melo vs KB : this one is easy Melo all day everyday
KP vs millsap : millsap is good but nothing close to KP and KP dominated millsap even over powering him
noah vs howard: depends on who comes out to play Noah has better work ethic but howard is a beast
I'd have to say we are a better talent then they are at every position as they have over played early on we have under played.... but now that we are jelling watch out we are a top 3 team talent wise in the east. its only a matter of building chemistry and a team bond and we are going to be a top team in the nba.. kp is turning into a super star and we already have two others in rose and melo.

To be fair to Paul -- he probably just assumed that this was one of the games Melo would be mailing it in again but he was wrong.
Melo typically shows up in front of the home crowd because he would never want to be fully boo'd by the entire garden crowd -- he typically chooses the road for when he isn't going to go 100% or when he is going to go full ISO mode.
Millsap has to get used to Dwight Howard. Dwight just a fun loving guy!

Both Dwight/Melo couldn't lead a ant colony to a picnic feast.

That's ridiculous. Dwight is the epitome of "Hooray for me, phck everyone else" narcissism. Melo is inconsistent at times, but he cares about winning and about teamwork. Iso-Melo still comes out, but not nearly as often as in the past.

I know money was a big factor, but for a guy who chose to ride it out with the Knicks instead of chasing a ring Melo doesn't get much respect around here.
More importantly, what does it say when we're able to do that to team with the best defensive efficiency in the league. It's still early, but Jeff and his staff have the coming along on that end. Defense is something that can be improve over the course of the season. It's still too early to stamp any sort of identity on most teams this early in the season. That said, we have few players on this team that are tough matchups for anyone. That alone gives us a chance against most teams.
How does this turn into a "F Melo" conversation? Like him or not Melo is on the team and we've got to learn how to win with him as a key part of this. It's not that hard really. Jeff is the one that has to put this all together and steer his players into executing as a TEAM. That's what they did yesterday and the Hawks don't have any excuses. The Hawks just got beat and it could've been worse if they didn't miss some really easy buckets.
I'm sure the Hawks can play better and obviously they have, but that was a legit home win IMO. This Knicks team has to earn respect and that was what they did against the Hawks. I didn't see a Hawks team that was laying down. They were trying, but the Knicks were really executing on both ends. I mean look at Howard who had a typical game for him as did Milsap and Korver. That wasn't enough this time. Bravo to the Knicks who came to play.

Yea but we are just coming together as a new unit we are playing better on both ends. The hawks on the other hand have been over achieving big time. they are a borderline lottery team, I really wouldn't be surprised to see the hawks miss the playoffs, and start playing below 500 ball.

I agree with knicks1248.
Our defense has been bad because we so busy worrying about the triangle.but I didn't see any triangle sets against the Hawks.. We can now focus more on the defense.
IMO he basically called us a trashy team, like theres no way in hell they should lose to us, you suppose to respect every team you play regardless of their record, that's why we lost to the wizards, we came out like it was going to be a cake walk, and it would have been if we came out with the same intensity as if we were playing A top team.
