Yeah IMO it's Blasphemy to even suggest getting rid of Clyde! Some people just don't get it. Man as a long time Knicks fan I can remember taping up his poster on the wall as a kid and he's been part of this journey all along. Some F'n People!!!

He is always giving his insights of the game. He is an icon!

Agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+1, Clyde does do much better as a poster on a wall!
sidneydeane wrote:I usually get sick of him about mid-season, but he has been especially annoying so far. Coupled with Wally coming in and basically being his opposite-actually being positive! Clyde is always so negative i swear he wants this team to fail and revels when we are losing.
I don't see Clyde being negative -- if anything he holds back too much.
My issue with Clyde is that he stopped working at his craft a long time ago and doesn't appear to prepare for anything other than his outfit that night.
I laughed during I think it was last pre-season game and late in the game Clyde commented "yeah - what happened to Randle - he hasn't played in the past few games". Breen had to tell him that Randle had fractured his cheekbone a few games back and would be out for 3-4 weeks --- Clyde despite being the teams announcer had NO IDEA.

You don't survive long in Dolan's company without being a homer. See the Marv Albert story as a reference point.
Wally knows it is required that he lavish praise on the Knicks --- too much negativity and Wally will be calling Westchester away games.

Clyde is obviously a big name/face in New York and always will be and i love him for what he is for New York and what he was for the New York Knicks in his day but i'd rather not listen to him do games.
ive never seen him get excited when the other team makes a play. I dont want homer announcers who just praise the knicks win or lose. Im not a huge clyde fan but he keeps it pretty neutral.
He definitely does. You must notvwatch all the games or you just dont notice. I dont want a full homer either but when everyone else shits on the knicks i wouldnt mind a slight bias
i have watched pretty much every game since the early 90s. True maybe i dont notice everything they say but i never see him blatantly cheer for the other team. There is nothing wrong with praising a opposing good player or play they make. Its funny because if this was another team most call out the bias their announcers have lol
Yeah i mean i dont want a full homer like the clippers i just want to to feel like clyde is going for the knicks and not just waiting for us to fail. Whatever like i said we could do worse and maybe i will appreciate him more once he is gone.
im sorry i still never see him root for us to lose. He is pretty damn honest which im all for. If someone makes a stupid foul he calls it out. Truthfully he praises melo like crazy even when he has off games lol
Root for us to lose?? Why do you keep saying things that weren't said?? I hope you're not commenting on my first post with your comments cause i never said anything like the things you're saying were said.
dude im not even talking about you...jesus
That's why i asked if you were so calm down cause i have no way of knowing if you were talking to me. Your first comment about this was you replying to my post so it does look like you were talking at me. By the way, in last nights game D.Rose got his shot blocked late in the game when we really needed a basket and Clyde made one of his comments and laughed at him being blocked which is what i was talking about.
Nalod wrote:The homers on other teams broadcast make you appreciate Clyde.
Yeah it will make fans of the Knicks appreciate Clyde but the fans of that announcers team probably love that their commentators are homers and root for their own team.

I'm a late 60's baby and have been a Knicks fan since so don't include me in the some people just don't get it part cause you can't find a bigger Knicks fan than me and Clyde annoys the shyt out of me when he's getting excited when the other team makes a good play against us and don't say he doesn't cause i watch every Knicks game and couldn't tell you the last one i missed. I love Clyde and what he does for New York and what he did for the Knicks but the commentating is sometimes unbearable for me, not always but sometimes.

Yeah, imagine that. Appreciating homer broadcasts and rooting for your own team. What a concept.
