hahaha love those chants.
We have become dominant again at the Garden. 9-3. And Derek Fisher chants to boot! F U Barnes! lol
KP had an awful shooting performance but did he work his arse off on D and rebounding. Cousins has become a very good passer, made some tough passes off the dribble.
Jennings tonight:
19pts 4ast 5-7fg 2-4 3pt 7-7ft
Great attacking, changed the tenor of the game.
Oh our other PG DRose was pretty good himself:
20pts 6ast 5rebs 9-14fg
BTW, don't mind the Derek Fisher chants at all, as long as he's not coaching the team lol
I wonder how many games we got 39pts out of the point guard position last season? I'm gonna go ahead and guess zero.

These are our 2 best guards and should close out games going forward. Period.
This was a sleeper big win. Getting another home win and finally a couple games over. Starts to build the mindset that wins are expected every night.

The Knicks haven't had one decent point guard forever. Having two is awesome. Also, Rose seems to be getting better every game.

It feels freakin amazing 😎 We suffered with subpar PG's for SOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG
Hats off to holiday and 8 boards
Larry bird used to love guards who could rebound. Though that was where a team could get an edge
Made it a tougher win than it needed to be, but a win is a win regardless. We've moved ourselves into a decent spot, with some consistency in play at home. Now need to get some same level of play on the road, which will be tough.
Excellent play by Melo continues. Could care less about his shooting numbers. He's picking his spots and limiting the iso melo ball. He's playing the type of game that will lead to wins and allow teammates to do more. Fantastic.
KP's shooting struggles continue. He needs to be more patient on his release. Rushing it a bit more. Teams are not letting him get open as much or as easily. As soon as he has the ball, teams are sending their guys on him fast and hard. I think it's making him rush. But damn what a defensive game by KP. His best of the season. Was a beast inside. Didn't let anyone get anything easy. Those boards were also pure effort. That's the type of defensive intensity he will need to play with if we're in the playoffs in April.
Rose just keeps playing better and better. He's getting those drives and making the shots like gimmes. Love his ability to get to the basket. He and Jennings did make a number of poor passes today and some overdribbling. However they're both playing well in their roles. The point guard position is actually a strength of this team.
Noah had a really good defensive game on Cousins later on. He got to him. That's his value. But we see on offense we're going to have to do something if teams begin to foul him or leave him open. He's got to get better on offense. Make layups, attempt them with confidence.
O'Quinn didn't have a great shooting night but some outstanding plays.
Lance Thomas was ok. I like his corner spot up. He really knows his role. He plays well within it. He looks overweight though. I don't think this is the same Lance as last year. I hope this doesn't mean less minutes for Kuz. We need to let Kuz develop. He's a rookie and he can get alot better over a year or two. Thomas is who he is and is dealing with a serious injury that I don't think will go away this season.

Calderon had higher win shares per 48 last season than Rose or Jennings this season... which tells me everything I need to know about that stupid stat.
We need to figure out how to close out games, though. We've been getting lucky. Hahn just said that we won because we were more talented. Was saying that earlier. We just have more talent then SAC and MIN and wore them out. It's great to have a surplus of talent on a roster again.
Wally called that Melo game winning half hook as Old Man game. hahahah I've been making that shot for years lol
I still think that we have some major issues on the offensive end right now...too many ugly possessions, IMO. We gutted it out, and looks good offensively at times, especially in the first half, but I still don't see an offensive identity out there.
Darn happy with the win, but I want to see a offense that will run smoothly no matter the opponent.

It's just a stat but you have to put things in perspective in the real world. IMO IMPACT is more important than just pure efficiency stats.
By the way...Kings shot about 32% from the field, and still almost won. The foul situation was ridiculous. Cousins is an f'n load, but they let him get away with a lot of banging when he is looking to score.

Yes, exactly. The impact Rose and Jennings have on the whole offense is massive.
