Great attacking, changed the tenor of the game.

Oh our other PG DRose was pretty good himself:

20pts 6ast 5rebs 9-14fg

The Knicks haven't had one decent point guard forever. Having two is awesome. Also, Rose seems to be getting better every game.

Calderon had higher win shares per 48 last season than Rose or Jennings this season... which tells me everything I need to know about that stupid stat.

It's just a stat but you have to put things in perspective in the real world. IMO IMPACT is more important than just pure efficiency stats.

Yes, exactly. The impact Rose and Jennings have on the whole offense is massive.

Yeah, it's every night the other team seems to get fair calls and the Knicks get a lot of contact and no calls. They're fighting through it at least.

Kings coach on the Knicks:

When the Kings finally get home from their road trip, the first team to visit Friday is the Knicks, a team Sacramento coach Dave Joerger believes is on the rise.

"I think it's an exciting time for them," he said. "I'm not really excited about playing them twice in eight days but I think they look good."

What happened on that play later in the game where KP was leveled while Cousins was spinning with the ball 9he was being double teamed)...ended up with a WCS 3 pt play, if I recall correctly. Maybe the camera angle was poor and they never showed a replay, but it looked like something could have been called against Cousins.

Like, we got Cleveland in a few days. And I'm honestly looking forward to the matchup of Rose and Kyrie. Where oh where are all the guys who painstakingly explained how Calderon was a better player??
crzymdups @ 12/4/2016 10:49 PM
Also, with Cleveland coming up Wednesday, I'm worried that Tuesday at Miami is a dreaded "trap game".

Some guys have fallen off the map. Not sure where they are.

I remember at least one guy who turned on DRose before the trial, seemed to make up his mind before the trial about what the verdict should be, before we even knew anything. Anyway. Whatever.

Last five games:

DRose
20.6ppg 5.2rebs 5.2ast 48%fg

KP
20.2ppg 7.2rebs 3.5blks

Melo
19.8ppg 6rebs

Melo and KP have been struggling with their shots last few games, but that's some nice balance there.

After the slow 3-6 start, Knicks have the best record in the East since with 8-3. Not enough, but the talent is there to be very good. We have 3 legit all star level players. We have some unknown yet quality role players like Holiday, OQuinn, Kuz, Hernangomez. Then there's Jennings as our 6th man.

Need to improve on the road. Period. The team has to find a way to play at a higher level on the road.

fishmike @ 12/5/2016 9:11 AM
interesting game... some observations:
We went a legit 10 deep in the rotation and it really worked well. We actually played 11 (Kuz got a very short run). There isnt a ton of redundancy in our bench. Everyone does some different things.

Lance picked up his poor shooting where he left off, but at least hitting those corner 3s was a great sign. Btw Lance is shooting 43% from 3 and 33% from 2. Ouch. Just bang and hit the long ball kid!

We have some muscle. I think the OKC game really lit a fire under these guys. Just because they are pros doesnt mean the cant lose focus. Since then our bigs have played big. With KOQ, Noah, Willy and Lance we have some real muscle. When you consider some of skill around them its a nice mix. We have a nice balance of size, speed and skill on the roster.

KOQ was a bigtime shot blocker in college and in the pre-draft measurements he showed a 7'5 wingspan. With him looking lighter and quicker dont be surprised to see more of this from him. He's 26 and looking like a very nice low budget acquisition by Phil.

Boy does Rose look good. He hasnt been a great facilitator yet but his scoring is really have a great impact. When KP and company were bricking away in the first qtr Rose's easy looking forays to the basket kept the Knicks going. He's been taking great shots. Look at his chart from last night. He either kills you taking it right to the hole or kills for for defending him like he's taking it right to the hole. Next to KP/Melo's outside shooting he's looking like a great fit every game.
Jose Calderon WS/48 (last year): 096
Derrick Rose WS/48 (this year): 062
Once again we are seeing that Rose is "the worse PG in the league" and "hurting his team" right? Sometimes you just have to watch the games.

Rose/Melo/KP is a legit big 3. I dont expect all 3 to make the AS game, but they are all that caliber. Whats nice is the role players are really good and we are getting nice contributions from the rest nightly.

Coach continues his pattern of letting players play and not making quick subs. It seems to be working really well. Guys look comfortable and are playing hard and look like they can play through stuff without looking over their shoulders.

Kings really stink. Cracks me up when you consider how much negativity Melo gets from fans and then you see guys like Boogie and Gay.

20 games in Knicks are 11-9, 6th in the East, and 8-3 over their last 11 games.

More Melo running the pick and roll please...

His shot has looked off since he tweaked his ankle/knee contesting Towns at the rim a few games ago. Worrisome. Hope he's ok.
I don't see meloshouldgo, starksewing, etc saying anything about his shooting

Don't worry, they'll be back the next time Melo has a bad game

What I said about his shooting is still the same. He has three bad shooting and two good ones on average. It's his IQ that I am worried about and his ball stopping.

Ok - I just realized you guys were talking about Porzingis. He should definitely the it inside more. I do not want to see him develop into a 3 pt shooter. Having said that I have a lot more patience woth a second year player on a rookie contract than a so called "a all star".

Didn't see the game, working weekend. But saw the clips y'all posted. Willy and KOQ looked smooth.

HofstraBBall @ 12/5/2016 11:08 AM
Good game. Good to see other players step up. Really surprised with KO. Was not a big fan. Think the loss of weight has improved his game. Shown great energy off the bench. First time he is showing to have a wing span. Great game by Jennings and Rose. Both looking more comfortable with offense. Minus a couple of trademark jump passes, Rose was extremely efficient. KP had an off night but really contributed with rebounds and blocks. Good to see he didnt hang his head due to bad outside shooting, like most young players. Melo had a low percentage night but if you take away three handoffs from other players with under 5 seconds left in the clock and first half shot past half court, not bad. Like to see him down low drawing fouls, like early in the season, but guess because of refs staying outside. Didnt force the issue and played with flow. LT looked rusty again, wanted him out but understan JH leaving him in to get his legs and rhythm back. We can sure use the old LT. Noah still concerning but hope he gets better as the season progresses. Which he should, specially with extended playing time. Amazing how many easy shots Sac missed in first half. Guess that why they made it closer in second. Started hitting layups. Good win.

Conveniently only watches games where KP shines or Melo shoots a low percentage. Hmmmm...how interesting

I have watched all of 5 games this season. I don't have NBA TV, and in most cases I don't have time. But what I have seen has been ugly performances by Melo, sorry that your two bit Diva can't turn in a good performance worth watching most of the time.

Oh yes, other than the fact he's just winning games in the fourth quarter at a clip of one a week. Two bad your KP mancrush only helps you better define your Melohate. Maybe you should listen to your unicorn boy talk about our two bit clutch Diva sometimes...

Keep right on enjoying the next couple of years...

And there was at least one guy who kept typing "ennings" in every post, ad nauseum. It is funny how the Rose/Jennings-hating contingent disappear when there's nothing to say.

At least when Melo's suhucking, the homer and centrist groups don't go hide under a rock. Very telling the type of "fans" some people show themselves to be.

I wonder if we could post some of Calerone's defensive stat comparisons, they might be more meaningful than WS48...
