Knicks · Didn't realize Courtney Lee's shooting % averages, finally showing up? (page 1)

He's shooting 45% overall and 45% from 3, and percentage-wise, he is better from downtown.

Wonder what the tape on wrist is all about, maybe some wrist tendentious?

Have to say that from watching him this I never would have thought his 3pt shooting was that effective.

The Knicks clearly need to get him more looks- he's only averaging 3.1 3s/Game...he should be closer to 5, I would think.

He is a good indicator of how the offense is working...more open looks means we are moving the ball around well.

I think part of the problem is that Jeff intended to have this team play more uptempo, spread the floor, shoot more 3's and run more PnR. They have done that to some extent but not to the degree that was expected. Part of that is the starting lineup is not built to run or play spread. It could be done with the bench more, but the starting lineup tends to play more Triangle style offense. The ball isn't really moving enough and there aren't that many open 3's.

I've been saying that I want Jeff to do more of his stuff cuz I think his schemes fit the needs of the team a bit better. As this thread is pointing out, we're underusing one of our weapons! I hope that Jeff hasn't given up on making changes to the way this team uses its talent. IMO there are things that could be done that would help make better use of the talent we have.

They often use Noah too far away from the basket which I think totally wastes his presence. Jeff once said he might play Noah closer to the basket but they've not really done that. When Noah is away from the basket he's just not really a threat and that's not good at all. Jeff has some plays that could be good for this team that he has abandoned since coming here. I wonder if he will eventually add some new stuff to give this team some different looks. They could do some Down Screens or Drag Screens to free up Lee for more open 3's.

Wow. I will be the first to admit I was wrong about him. I was unimpressed with him in pre-season

And i thought he has been playing well, poised, suitably-aggressive given the roster, during the season but i didn't realize he was playing that well

He, Holiday, Jennings, WIlly, Kuz, and especially O'quinn are all playing much better than i expected and very happy for that!!

I said this when everyone was shitting on him and I'll say it again... when things are going well you won't really notice Lee and when things are going poorly he's gonna look like trash. He's supposed to be our fifth best starter... he's a nice piece. But there's also a reason he's been cast aside repeteadly. There is also a reason Charlotte caught fire after they acquired him. IF you need a two to complement everyone else he's your guy - hence why we signed him

The Knicks have been getting him plenty of looks. The problem is Lee is not aggressive enough. He passes up SO MANY open shots. You need your shooting guard taking those shots. This team needs Lee to average at least 15ppg, which he could easily if he was a little more aggressive.
