http://stats.nba.com/leaders/#!?Season=2...He's a pure bellweather player for how this team is playing - if the ball is moving and our offense is humming, CLee will get some real nice open looks. And he's knocking them down.
He's not gonna take too many guys off the dribble, but he's a good defender and real good shooter. He fits perfectly what we need at SG on this team. Like what some of us hoped Afflalo might be, I think.
But CLee is the real deal. Salute.
Man I have to give you credit for your foresight about Courtney Lee:

He has been awesome. Earlier in the game they said he has shot the highest percentage from 3 in the nba since Thanksgiving.
I would overpay him before Bazemore.
Though Charlotte might overpay him before Batum, even.
Lee is an IDEAL SG for the way the game is played now. Defense. 3s. Rebounds, moves the ball. I like his grit, too.
how much?
I have no idea what the market will be. But I would definitely go around $10M per for 2 or 3yrs. Not sure if that's even enough though, in the coming market.
He's been just what we need at times even tho he's had his adjustment issues. Overall he's gotten more comfortable and is a great fit with the ball dominant players we have. That was the one thing that some people who thought Lee was nothing more than a lower case Afflalo didn't get. Unlike Afflalo, Lee can play without the ball at a high level and still be effective. AA had to have the ball and he tended to handle the ball a lot. No way that works with Melo, Rose and KP.
That's actually an amazing stat. Kudos to him
Not surprised at all. Wish he'd take more 3s. What's really shocked me is Shumpert at number 4. I'd be surprised if that lasted, but maybe he's turned the corner.

The Cavs get so many WIIIIDE open three point shots for the likes of Shump, JR, and Frye... Frye is also among the leaders in 3pt%. I think Shump is actually suceeding more now because he isn't trying to do too much any more.
Same idea as Courtney Lee's open shots, except Lebron is like a 6'8" 260lb super charged DRose and he creates all sorts of havoc in the lane.
Other than Noah who has also began to play better the last few games, every Phil Jackson move for the roster has looked good to solid.
I mean Rose looks MVP Rose in terms of driving to the paint and speed.
Lee is exactly what we were hoping for. 3nD wing.
OQuinn showing why Phil gave him a 4 year deal last year. Great bargain.
Thomas is similar to Lee only bigger. His 3 ball improving is vital.
Holiday has completely made us forget Grant. He fits in beautifully.
Jennings is one of the best backups in the league. Erratic but high impact.
Kuz is erratic but very talented and ballsy.
Hernangomez looks great for a 2nd round pick and a rookie.
That's basically 8 players Phil has got around Melo and KP that have really looked good or better than we expected. The only player so far who hasn't played up to that is Noah, but even he has began to look much better this past week.
And coach Horny from Fish is an upgrade as well. Quietly this team is upgraded significantly at virtually every position around Melo (when you factor KP has improved vs last year).

I gotta say...your right. Still think he has a huge ego. Lol. Glad that the players are gelling. Can't wait to see all of them playing on all cylinders.

Courtney Lee shooting more threes turns him into an inefficient player. That's what Shumps problem was. He had the potential to be more but he becomes ineffective once he starts shooting too much. Right now Stump is becoming Courtney Lee. Kind of ironic

Except Lee doesn't miss layups and dunks and can hit a mid-range.

Lee is a consistent 3point shooter. Look at his numbers. He always shoots 38-40%. He is a great shooter. Shumpert will never be that level of shooter. He is a streaky shooter and even streakier overall player.

Phil's overhaul this summer was almost perfect. It's too bad the media is focused in on Noah's contract and trying to badly misinterpret what he says to the press.
I give Noah until the playoffs to prove himself. All he needs is a playoff run - which he is very capable of - to turn his season around.

The media's timing of their attacks on Phil is ridiculous- calling for his resignation when we're in the midst of winning, and nearly all of his offseason moves are working out. Just ridiculous!

I think it might make him more efficient. His field goal % is solid from every distance except for long two point jumpers, where he shoots an even worse percentage than he does from 3. He doesn't even need to take more shots. He just needs to reallocate the shots he takes. I'm just using the basketball reference shooting stats. You're right tho, he would turn to trash if he started gunning like JR.

Yeah before the season in doing research I saw that Lee was one of the most efficient players on Fast Breaks, which is a very important thing that not everyone does well. As noted about Shump.
