Noah physically looks like he is having problems. Fist 5 minutes last nite he was very active. Getting rebounds and immediately leading a fast break is a very rare skill for someone his size. On the offensive end, he had a nice ally oop and some very good looks around the rim that did not fall. The problem is him being able to do this in longer stretches. I did not see past the second period as I prefer to sleep.
Thomas looks rusty still.
Typing in anger that we should trade these guys when they are down is not a good value proposition but it feels good for some to do so.
Its an emotional reaction when frustrated.
I would be open to trading Noah and/or Rose. It would be nice to parlay an off-season signing into a younger asset without giving up anything.

Without Rose, doubtful this team will win enough games to make the playoffs. Why would we make a trade that makes us a worse team?

Never ever would happen. I'd prefer the youth of Plumlee and McCollum, let alone the fact that McCollum is almost an all star level shooting guard.

Still think Minnesota would take Noah to be a leader for that young team, especially with Thibs as GM coach. I would actually attach Jennings with him to make the deal more appealing and get a pass first point guard back in Rubio along with a wing defender in Mohammed.

If we traded Noah to them, they would likely insist in us taking Dieng back- they've just given him a whopping contract so he'll be making roughly the same as Noah (though Dieng is on the books for an additional year, so we'd be stuck with him). They already have Towns, & Cole ($7mil per year-yikes), so it would make zero sense to then have Noah at $17mil per year and Dieng at $17mil per year, especially when they'll eventually have to stump up big bucks for Towns, LaVine and Wiggins.
Would you trade Noah for Dieng? Serious question as I've never really watched him play.

Never understood people's infatuation with Rubio. His rep as this all-world teenage point guard prodigy was a long time ago. I don't see him as an upgrade over Jennings. But I agree that Minnesota would be the only viable option to trade Noah at this point. I just don't think Thibs see Noah's value as a mentor as being worth the money remaining on his contract. I think our best bet is to continue to work on trying to make Noah a productive player and lower our preseason expectations/hopes of Noah.

Salaries don't match.... Portland would have to add more to make the money work so this is a no go
Knicks just have to maneuver from within. Noah isn't in shape. He might be hurt. His cardio looks horrible and he looks heavy. They list him at 230, he might be 245. You gotta bench him for the good of the team. He can nurse himself back to form getting his limited minutes.
Also we need to play Kuz... Lance is around for defense but he routinely over plays off his man. That causes a ripple in the defense. I would rather have Kuz offense if Lance isn't going to defend. Kuz is the better player.

I am concerned Rose's back problems are just the symptom of a larger problem, his knees, and he might be close to done for the season. While I don't think we should trade for a pg, we are going to need to make some room for Randle on the roster. Also, Noah is starting to look like a 17M version of Sasha. Damn straight he needs time off to get right. I don't think you can play through a hamstring, and he could have tried to come back to soon

As I said in another post, Im guessing that Baker is a Thibs kind of player, and including him might make Thibodeau more willing to deal. Not sure I want to use Baker to trade Noah but unloading his contract is important IMO.

I would much rather have Dieng. He would be easier to move as well. In my opinion Noah isnt making this team much better or worse. Whether this team is able to make the playoffs depends on how many games ROse plays

Thats what I was asking- I've never really properly watched him play so I have no idea. He would be on the books one year longer than Noah, so likely if we traded for him, we'd be stuck with him for a long time.

I always go by what realgm trade checker tells me...but...looking at hoopshype contracts I think you are right.
EDIT: OK..I need to pay attention more when playing around with that tool. We can actually trade Noah to Minny for picks so this is a lot easier than I thought.
Why would Minny want that? If Noah is broken, they don't want him. If Noah is not broken, we want him.
If Noah wanted to be a TWolf, He had signed with them.
