Obviously things can always change, but this is a very interesting article. But my real takeaway has nothing to do with Phil, it is the chemistry this group is building together. This group of players genuinely likes each other, and are close like family. It makes it hard to just trade a guy like Noah, or let Rose go this summer just in case there is a better option. These guys are all very good friends, and the mix of veterans and young guys is a winning mix. It is why it is so important to have patience with this group and keep them together if possible.

continuity means something. There is just no way around it. Very few successful teams of any nature have big turnover.

We have all our picks and plenty of guys with upside. I am very interested to see how well this team does over the course of the year, but its a good start. Not great, but good with mostly positives.

Just a few days ago berman hacked a piece of shyt article suggesting because Walton still calls Phil that he might leave to join the Lakers.
Yet, Phil a few weeks ago said he had an opt out, but that was just smart thing, and he has no plans to leave and likes it here.

Great article:

Exactly, at this point we are better off just continuing the path we are headed. It's a gamble either way. With draft picks and young players on the roster, there is improvements that can be made without any major changes, and that is much different than what we are used to around here.

He's 70 years old... that's all I got on this conversation

I NEVER put any stock in the rumors of Phil leaving early. It didn't make any sense for Phil to leave after drafting KP and Willy and having finally put a team together that is capable of winning games and getting into the playoffs. Why not stay the course and see how far this team can go? He's got another summer where he can tweak the roster and try to make it better. It just didn't make any sense to me.
