Knicks · Why is ESPN, first take and media always bashing the Knicks? (page 1)

They are calling or debating who to blame for our failure. Phil or Melo or Dolan.

I just don't get it.

We have a franchise player in the making in KP.
We have a really good coach who has balanced the Triangle with other offense.
We have some good young talented role players like Billy, Kyle, Kuz and Justin who can be here for years.
We are 3rd in the East despite a brand new team some injuries and still figuring out how to play with or another. Boston is every media pundits darling team yet we sit ahead of them with a better young star than any of their picks.

Say what you want about Melo and Rose but both are great at what they do. Melo is still an all star and Rose when healthy is an all star as well. He has been good for us.

I simply don't get it. We were supposed to be a 35 win team finishing 11th or 10th in the East and we are instead 3rd right now on pace to win between 43-45. We have all our draft picks moving forward. We should be able to have a maximum salary available in capspace if we choose to not keep Rose making us a player in free agency.

Why all the hate? We're doing solid and have a future with KP. The only bad looking move or failure so far this year has been Noah, but give him time he may still show something he has great heart.

What was the debate or assignment of blame? Was this Today?
Maybe they are mad because knicks on national TV has been dismal.
No sweat, its wins and losses that matter an dyou know the gig.
To be fair, Knicks have to do something this season, at the end. Many teams can have a nice stretch then fall back into the lower third.
Rose's back is news. Melo is always news. KP gets great press when he does things and I think is treated fair.

without seeing or hearing any bashing, my guess is that we have gotten absolutely smoked on national tv so far this year. when everyone can watch, we get our asses kicked

Possibly. But in almost all the national TV ass whippings we had a key player out or put together a lineup that had never played together and/or came of a game the previous night. It hasn't been optimal or full throttle situations for the Knicks.

Even so you have to look at the season and results as a whole. Which they refuse to do. We are better at point guard by miles, we are a little better at 2, KPs improvement makes us better at 4 and the way Hernangomez and OQuinn have played we are deeper and better at 5. We made a good coaching choice. Just don't understand the hate thrown at the Knicks. You would think we were 9-17 or something like that right now. The media isn't looking at how in the 2nd half of last year this team went 12-29. This is a much improved team and product by Phil and Hornachek.

This. The Knicks have had four nationally televised games. They beat the Bulls and most analysts had the Bulls as being a little or a lot better than the Knicks. Losing on ring night and in the posse game to the champs on a second night of a back to back isn't a big deal and should be looked at in context of what was happening at the time with the teams. Losing to the Warriors when two of your best players sit out is to be expected. Losing to the Warriors at home is to be expected.

I listen to some of the opposing teams broadcast when we play them, and most of them think we can be a threat if healthy. They praise JH, and think the world of kP.

Their are 3 ESPN fools that trash the knicks, Jalen, Billups, and Max On First take

Knicks may be 3rd but they are a game out of being 9th

Bashing the NY teams always generates more clicks and better ratings than praising them.

Middle america, who loves to hate NY, is happy. And NY fans are irate - but they engage with the content when they're irate, which is good for ratings, too. These places don't want anything but clicks and ratings.

Billups always seems to go out of his way to bad mouth the Knicks. Sounds personal to me. I wonder if he is still upset about getting let go by the organization.

I think he is and he is also still pissed that he got included in the Melo trade. He wanted to stay in Denver. Billups has started to remind me of a bitter Byron Scott (the clueless coach version). Jalen and TMac both said they take KP over Towns the other night. Billups went with Towns.

Billups and Rose are both personally bitter about how they were treated by the Knicks and it shows.
