True article. Our handling of trading draft picks is the biggest reason we have dealt with 16 years of misery. Finally we got it right with KP. We also have all our future first which we need
Not a fan of the article. I think it is too easy for writers to fall back on the Knicks don't build through the draft, with young players etc. That was in the past. The Knicks have the most rookies in the nba. They have their picks. They have a young star and another guy that they drafted that was being complimented by Kevin McHale for his footwork and post moves. Also, the Melo trade did not work out for Denver. Gallo and Chandler have missed so many games during their tenure there. You can't credit the Knicks for drafting Porzingis and not acknowledge the tanking strategy that would lead to a difference in records overall. Also, why rehash the horror of Donnie Walsh's tenure. Those guys other than Melo are all gone.

I don't like same old Knicks articles. That isn't the case now and it hasn't been for awhile. The Knicks aren't chasing stars at they expense of youth and draft picks. That stopped with Phil. I don't see a reason to go back 6 years and talk about everything that happened up to the 14-15 season and say that is how the Knicks operate. The article praised KP but went after the Knicks for tanking to get him. KP is always praised. Previous regimes sucked in NY. Layden, Thomas and Walsh were horrible. Grunwald was ok but the Bargs trade was bad (I believe he says he was forced to make the trade but not sure if it has been substantiated). Phil cleaned house, tanked when what he tried to do wasn't working and other than Melo, KOQ, Lee and Noah has gotten guys on one year deals. Sorry, I don't see the Knicks the way the author does. Same old Knicks except KP is a tired chant for me and very far from the truth. How many picks do the knicks have in this years draft? How many rookies on the team?
A little KP praise doesn't automatically equal a good article on the Knicks.

I think you're over reacting about this article which is just saying the truth about how bad we've been over the years with trading away draft picks to bring in players with bad contracts or injury riddled players to try to do whatever it took to be a win now team and a lot of those moves hurt us and were still hurting all the way up to last year especially the Melo and Bargnani trades. All the past trades that hurt us are done now and we have not only all of our draft picks but we have some young players that will be big for our future.
