I liked what I saw from this young fella last year as a rookie. He seemed a heady player, gets into the paint and is a good three point shooter. He competes on defense although he's a bit undersized. Utah has a glut of PGs, with George Hill playing well and Dante Exum likely the starting PG sometime in the near future. Shelvin Mack has been a solid third-up and Raul has fallen in the rotation.
Nevertheless Raul has been productive in the minutes he's been given. He's upped his FG and 3pt shooting percentages and remains solid defensively. I think his style of play also fits well with the bench unit and he can play in place of Jennings against some of the stronger guards who have given Brandon some problems this year.
Utah has possibly 5 picks in this year's draft but the 2018 2nd round draft pick the Knicks have might seal the deal.
Thoughts?
Eh. I don't see anything worth cutting another of our players plus losing a draft pick. I know Phil doesn't really like short guards. Pass
