Happy new years folks!

so far... the knicks season has been full of ups and downs. i expect this to continue because theyre an average team. but on the bright side, its a sign of progress that the knicks reach 500 and could sneak into the playoffs.

so far...the health of melo and rose has been ok. usually chronic injuries tend to creep up around the all star break. Lets hope for the best.

so far...KPorzingus has improved to a borderline all star (I think hes a DEF allstar but im biased due to being his biggest fan). yes he still needs to work on his lower body strength and dribble drives. but hes a walking mismatch

so far...coach hornecek has done a GREAT job of modernizing the offense. yes the triangle is still there but not as much. this is a free -wheeling PNR happy offense that any PG would love to play in

so far...rose has shown that he still has his quickness. however he has difficulty finishing at the rim and poor passing vision (he doesnt have eyes in the back of his head to pass to a wide open KP at the 3pt line). WIth that said, i wouldnt be shocked or mad if the knicks resigned him to a 2 yr deal. Let that appease melo and they can try again.

so far...bjennings has shown that hes not that good. he can pass (better than rose) but his shot selection and def are lacking. i dont think the knicks should resign him. instead i hope they draft DeAaron Fox who is a BJennings clone but BIGGER (6-4), faster, better defender and younger (19).

so far...Noah has shown that hes FINISHED. wasted money with no amnesty clause. that signing was a MISTAKE. Lee has shown that hes not a difference maker - just a role player. thats cool - off the bench. hopefully the knicks can upgrade at the SG position

so far...the bench has been better than i ever imagined. Willie G, Kuz and Oquinn are adequate. however for the knicks to improve (to a contender), their bench must improve

thats all i can think of for now... please leave your thoughts!!!

Pretty good post. I think Lee is more important than it may appear. When we have both Lee and Holiday the SG spot is pretty solid. I don't even think Lee has been at his best since he's had wrist issues for a while now.

This team can't continue to start Noah IMO. I think they should shift the rotation going forward with more minutes playing small. Phil built this team with a lot of old school bigs and that kind of forces Jeff to play them. However this weakens the team cuz I think they're better with more of a small ball style.

Happy New Year to you.

Imo. The team will struggle without solid Center play and a consistent 3pt shooter. If you notice, the games we have looked good is when we get solid contributions from both the center and SG position. Bench is also key. Some nights they look good and others non existent. My New Years hope is that KP continues to improve his inside post up game, movement without the ball(cuts instead of hovers at 3pt line) and improves his defense on stretch 4's. Hoping Melo goes back to down low post up game and taking it strong to basket and does not try to make moves 25 feet from the basket and become a 3pt shooter. Hoping Rose can develop his outside game, cut down on jump passes and get his assist average to 7. Hoping we replace Noah or add Center and have Noah to come off bench. Hoping we add a solid scorer/shooter off the bench.

Prediction is that we improve in the coming months and hopefully finish strong going into the playoffs. If Melo can get back to how he played in first half of last year and the team can continue to gel, then we have a shot to beat some really good teams. Let's hope guys keep improving and our starters get back to a high level. Go Knicks!!
