We need to keep him at a 28-30 minute player. Pushing him 40 minutes at 7-3 will catch up to him quick.
First off they are making KP do ridiculous things. Putting it on the floor in a triple threat. They Knicks know how to screw up a big man. KP should be a dominant force down low with the occasional mid range game with a few threes.

I also look at him having to cover so much ground on D as an issue. His instinct is to watch the lane, but then he has to get back to cover stretch 4s and sometimes react when they choose to drive off a shot fake instead of shooting a 3. Lots of energy and jarring movement when he is on D...more so on offense.
I have also commented that I don't care for him doing ISO from 25-30 ft from the basket.

I'm not following your point. What young bigs have the Knicks screwed up in their history?

I made no mention of history I said they know how to screw up a big man referring to KP. I don't like him handling the ball up to or away from the basket unless he is shooting. Would love to get KP playing closer to the basket where his height is maximized not on the perimeter where it is minimized. No way KP should be shooting less than 50% from the floor. More a result of him trying to create shots of dribble than getting the ball down low in the post. I don't want a bigger version of Melo.

That's not his game. At all. Yes, he should post up more but it never ever was in his repertoire to primarily be a post-up player. If you're expecting him to become one, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. A more realistic goal is for him to become an improved mid-range player so he can mainly rely on that tool. He will become a force in that avenue.
Defensively, he just has to improve at everything. And yes, I agree with Briggs. Decrease the number of minutes he gets to preserve him.

He doesn't have to post but occasionally he needs to get more touches around the basket in a simple catch and shoot position. The Knicks are forcing him to create shots which is not a strong point for KP. Most of his points come from catch and shoot. Reduced minutes might be good for him too.
Look at this, though.
http://www.82games.com/1617/1617NYK.HTMThe team is terrible with him off the court. If you have him sitting out 20 min a game, you're going to lose many more games. If he's injured you're going to lose too, though. The team is really dependent on him.

Jerome James, Eddy Curry... Knicks screwed up all of them...

Well, most of our players are screwed up before they get here

Once again this is in reference to KP. There is no past historical intention here.
