For 15 games. See what happens. I think it can either make us into a very good team, or keep us where we are at, which is a .500 type of team.
We can keep starting Noah, Porzingis, Melo but with the quicker backcourt it allows us more shot creating and better depth to the offense than just dumping it to Melo or KP or Rose to isolation. I think we've began to rely too much on isolation ball.
Defensively it's about effort.
Looks like either Melo or KP will be out (maybe both) tonight. We should keep trying this. I really thought they played well, even outplayed Houston's starting 5. This with basically no KP and Melo as Melo had a bad knee and sat out the 2nd half.
This would mean we would need Baker to play some stretches of 4-5 minutes a half, but I am comfortable with that. I think we need to play smaller, quicker and with more potent 3 point shooting at the wings. This would mean more minutes for Lee at 3, and more minutes for Holiday there as well. It would mean less minutes for Melo, or Melo playing the 4.
This current stretch of games will be interesting to watch and see what Jeff and his staff come up with. I do think it's possible that we'll see some of what you suggest. I think Jeff was testing it in the last game.

With 2 players that can constantly break down the defense it allows the Knicks to better utilize Porzingis, Melo and even Noah. Noah was making a living off easy baskets around the rim last game. Certainly I can't ever expect Noah to do this all the time, but he does very well when he's playing off a guard that penetrates a defense. He knows how to crash the glass and set screens. Then there's KP, he is also a nightmare off screen setting. Melo needs to get more comfortable catch and shooting which he has been, but still even moreso with this kind of lineup. Melo's done well in 2 man games. What we have is any of the front court guys can set a screen for one of the guards and use that to create offense.
I like Lee, and he's a reliable shooter. However I think when we play Rose and Jennings together it gives this team a compltely different type of look on offense.
