Knicks · Noah's shoulder looked bad (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 1/5/2017 4:54 AM
If I was a betting man id say he's going out for extended period
knicks1248 @ 1/5/2017 8:36 AM
He came back in the last play of the game and played the worst defense i ever seen a big man play. Instead of committing to the double team on the greek right before he unleash his dagger, he hesitated on staying with greg or going back up to help lance. Melo was right there in the paint if greg became open.

It was such a LOW IQ move for a veteran and former DOY.

Chandler @ 1/5/2017 8:53 AM
Giannis hit a fall away jumper. How would Noah have changed that.

And if Noah did double and giannis dished to monroe for the winner would you be criticizing him for the double.

Giannis made a clutch play plain and simple. There are plenty of other things to fault other than Noah's defense.

Personally I thought Noah played well and is improving. I appreciate others may disagree.

However his last play was not bad and certainly not the worst ever

And I hope Noah isn't hurt. He was certainly in pain

EnySpree @ 1/5/2017 9:31 AM
Noah got mauled that last play. If it wasn't the last play of the game Monroe might have gotten a loose ball foul called on him....

Calling something the worse play ever is so over used nowadays. There have been worse plays on defense by big men. Don't be so dramatic bruh

And the Knicks should have won the game by 10 but completely choked this game out

I saw melo drift into the paint and that would have covered monroe..if you stop this clip at the 7 second mark, Noah has to commit to the double, hands up and either force him to make a bad pass or a really bad shot. But instead he follows monroe into the paint, and actually has his back to the ball handler, which is an AMARE like move.

cmon, you gotta know that dude is taking the shot, and noah was just confused

Good play Bucks ran and executed it well. If Noah stays out Monroe is open.
Monroe grabbed him which spun him around. Rose was right there and made a swipe for the ball,
Bucks made a good play and executed a tough shot.
"Worst play ever", so Trumpian like!!!!!!!

I'm not disagreeing that Knicks could've played that last possession differently, and maybe there would be a different outcome. Personally the idea of relying on Melo to rotate and stop Monroe isn't my fave but people can disagree

I am disagreeing that Knicks played poorly that last possession. Simply not true. Lance played it very well, and in fact had a strong game moving his feet (same too for Noah).

It's also not why we lost. There are two primary reasons we lost, in this order of priority. First, the refs stunk. They had quick whistles on Bucks' drives -- Bucks spent the fourth quarter at the stripe. The refs did not have the same whistles on our drives. Then the last two possessions were completely blown by refs. Refs blew it with Rose and on the replay they had to see that they missed the foul. Not something they can correct on replay but they had to know they blew it. We deserved a makeup call, and the sad part is we didn't need one. We just needed an honest call on Giannis's hook. Second, we got complacent with a big lead. You could see it. We started to smile and yuck it up. The problem was the Bucks still had scowls on their faces, and hadn't thrown in the towel. that's been a problem all year. Lack of killer instinct. We are happy to trade baskets. The championship teams play the full 48 minutes.

I think it's really unfair to place blame on LT or Noah -- at least for this game.

Bucks deserve credit for staying focused

The thing is - the Bucks didn't even play well. They've hung tight with the Cavs down to the buzzer. If the Bucks play well Friday, they will blow us out of the building.

I agree. They played with grit though. I think if the situation were reversed we would've folded if down by 15. It's a real gut check time for the team. They played hard for 80-90% of the game and lost by a point. They can grow from this or fold. It will be a test of character

Knicks lost 32-17 in the 4th at home. That's embarrassing and is a ass whoopin. 32 points to any team is a joke and Knicks have no defensive intensity or pride. This won't stop until the D tightens up and with Melo as team leader, it's not likely to happen.

That was bad. Theres a lot of blame there--but bottom line---the coach has to put 5 guys on the floor to get it done--be aggressive calling timeouts and do not let them have that run to get close.

There was some different units that we had either our way with(with snell at SG and henson at C) and the other unit had periods where they manhandled us--Monroe Giannis Parker

The 14-2 run the Bucks went on when Anthony went to the bench to start the fourth quarter was brutal.
WaltLongmire @ 1/5/2017 6:41 PM
For what it is worth...the NBA admitted that the refs blew the 5s backdown rule.
WaltLongmire @ 1/5/2017 6:51 PM

Hahn pointed this out on the radio today, and the replay confirms it at the 3/4s mark...Rambis looks like he is yelling at Rose to double down on the Greek... you can see him waving his arm/yelling out to Rose.

Wonder if Rose was still upset about the non-call on the inbounds play?

Both Rose and Melo seem to spend too much time complaining after bad calls on offense... might have been a mental issue with Rose this time...who knows.

Nalod @ 1/6/2017 12:01 PM
Looks like Rose was properly positioned but when you get that close to the buzzer, he should have closed in more.

Yes, unfortunately that was an IQ decision type play and what separates the playoff/non-playoff teams and also the high level and regular playoff teams.

Would KP been on him? length matters.

For me, doesn't really matter. Even if KP was on him, the chance to double would still be there and you have to make a blink decision to go for ball or not, especially with clock winding to zero.

Nalod @ 1/7/2017 1:49 AM
Noah shoulder looked good on the dunk tonite!!!
KP length Freaked out the the freak.
