I was hoping we would trade Rose for something of value, but after these shenanigans I doubt there are many takers out there.
Our best option with Rose and Long term really is to tank now and talk some 6-8 seed in either conference that Rose is their answer to the 2nd round past an elite team.
Worst thing we could do is offer this idiot a long term contract, no matter how talented he is.
I still remember him dunking during warm-ups only to sit during critical games for the Bulls a few years ago.
I thought perhaps this experiment would work and because of lack of options, Why not! But Knicks would be insanse to offer Rose anything more than a 1 yr Contract if they are still saddled with him by the off-season.
I haven't read what has been written in this thread but I just heard from a "friend" that this had EVERYTHING to do with his benching for the last two fourth quarters.
He was there for morning shoot around and that was it. I guess he was making a statement. In any case, regardless how he performs moving forward, I can't imagine the Knicks resigning him after this. He may also ruined any trade value he had.
I wonder if Atlanta would trade Millsap for Rose. Both are free agents in 2017 and unlikely to stay where they are currently playing at.
KP, Millap and Melo would be a nightmare front court.

I think Atlanta could get a treasure chest for Milsap. Not sure what the Knicks can get for Rose but it won't be Milsap.

Yeah, I don't think the way the Knicks handled this is good at all. They basically let Rose off the hook. They completely undermined the coach. They didn't even suspend him one game. It's completely pathetic. It will have repurcussions down the line with regard to Hornacek and Rose. Not good.

Can you both share your insight on what really happened? Seems like you guys know more than the press or the organazation.

Yeah, everybody has a "friend" or a "source" or a "contact" who knows somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody who knows what happened. Translation: these guys don't know any more than anybody else on this board.

Rose has the resources to hire a publicist/agent to take care of these things. Someone should have called and then there would be no issue. The Knicks could have said Rose was handling a personal matter and it would be a non issue. Now he's caused a major distraction. It's nobodies business what Rose is going through, but this made it everyone's business. The players and team have to answer for him. Us fans have to deal with it too. I know I'm getting texts from hater fans and getting attacked at work by the anti knick establishment.
The fallback should be an automatic one game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. He would then need to square it with the team and the fans. Nothing more or less. Then we can squash this. If it happens again...🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rose should hire a new publicist. A pro team would have tagged stories for EVERY client and be alerted about this situation AS IT HAPPENS. Then he/she could have taken proactive steps to reassure the team/public/media about the situation. That didn't happen, and now it looks like Rose is the one who's unprofessional and everyone wants him sacked.
Let's see what he has to say for himself. If he quit on the team due to benchings then I agree: He gots to go. If it's something else and he just didn't have the focus and maturity to text/call...then it sucks, but could be forgiven depending on circumstances. Either way, his PR team sucks.
