Though to be fair Jimmer is 6'2 tall and didn't play a lick of defense. Monk has great PG size even with his wingspan, and he plays defense. They just got to draft him with the intent to use him as a PG. For example buddy hield is 6'4 but he has a 6'8 wingspan which means he can shoot over people easier.

Honestly if at the end of the day if Monk's size and Fox's lack of outside shooting, and DSJ's injuries really scare the knicks to really consider Ntilkina at #4...... I kind of hope they try to make a trade to the kings for #7 and #9 (more likely #10) Pick up Ntilkina at #7 and pick up Justin Jackson at #9 or #10 and give Sacremento a higher pick this year to go after Tatum or Fox. They are as an organization crazy enough to do it, and Monk while not being triangle friendly (because that's apparently all that matters" would work great with Buddy as a back court duo.

Fox wouldn't suck in the Triangle. He's too talented and patient to suck. If you watch him play he isn't just 100mph all the time. He gives it up and allows the balk to move before getting it back. He knows when to attack or turn it on. He'd be in the Jordan/Kobe role and not the Kerr/Fisher role. He defends too. I think Phil would LOVE this kid.

I like the kid, I do...... but we're seeing now what the triangle looks like with guards who can't shoot consistently. Hell we've seen that almost nonstop since Phil came here since they haven't got a good shooter yet to run the system. on the flip we have also seen how bad this team is without a PG who can defend. so with that said even then Fox could be the pick. Hornecek was a shooting coach before becoming a HC and with an improvement to his outside shot he could play that attacking role

All I am saying is if the Knicks have #4 and make the informed decision that Frank is the pick I hope they try and see if they could pull Kings pick trade for #7 and #9 he should be there and guys like Justin Jackson also fits the triangle..... he reminds me of a young Otto Porter he just needs to bulk up (sort of like porter did)

Its sweet when they cry after a loss. Be better if he had the stones to carry the team to a win instead.
If he was all heart, he'd come back with some others and be "on a mission"......but its a business and Cal has others coming in next year.

Its not about what these kids are, its what they are projected to be and how long it takes.

I think Fox is going to be OK shooting. He's been getting better from what I've seen but more importantly he makes better decisions with the ball than Rose does as a Vet. Fox has insane fast twitch reflexes and I think he would help us defensively. The problem with Rose isn't a lack of 3 pt shooting. He can get his midrange shots off just fine. Rose's problems are playmaking and defense. I think Fox is better at both and he draws fouls.

Justin Jackson seems like a very solid 2 way player. Guys like that are always high on my list. He's not as dynamic as a Tatum but perhaps a more balanced player that is good for a system.

Defensively he would have to guard PGs. SG in the league would definitely just shoot over him if he was guarding them. Which is why he would fit great on a team like Philly where Simmons could be the ball handler and monk can be the SG offensively but defensively Monk could guard the PGs and Simmons the SFs.

For us, we would need him to handle the ball somewhat. Lee could take the step back and act like a triangle PG, but its a little more difficult, because Lee is really a SG himself.

If we draft Josh Jackson as a potential Melo replacement, how do we fill the PG hole? I know this draft is filled will talented PG, but if Josh Jackson is not only a Melo replacement, but one of the best two way players in the draft, you gotta take him. And with a deep PG draft, use your 2nd round picks (or cash) to buy into the first round and select a PG. I can almost guarantee a solid PG will drop in this draft, and he will have a chip on his shoulder.....Because it's too deep at that position. Then you have 2nd round picks to take another flyer on a PG, as insurance (or stay with baker and randel as primary backups).

Agree about the guard situation. Essentially, we would have a 3-guard rotation of Rivers, Lee, and whomever we draft (Monk, Ntilikina, Fox, etc.) With Rivers being a combo guard, and Monk and Ntilikina also combo guards, you can have any of these guys share the floor together with Rivers or Lee.

#3 Jason Tatum--game came on end of season--great frame size
#4 Markelle Fultz--his knees are a little scary but no way he falls past 4
#5 Deaaron Fox
#6 Dennis Smith--will be a big time nBA player
#7 John Collins--most under rated player in draft

I agree with most of this definitely. My question for you is when we discussed Fox awhile back, you said you can't draft him because of his lack of shooting. What made you change your mind about him? He's been the same player all year (i have been a huge fan of him) and despite his shooting numbers, he has good form and is a good free throw shooter. But what made you change your mind?

You add in Crawford (if they can't find a 3'rd team) and we're set at guard rotation. The question then is do they do at SF. throwing a max at Otto Porter and hoping the Wizards blink is pointless they are going to match, Hayward would go to Boston or stay in Utah....... not a lot of options at SF

Yeah. We would probably have to stick with Lance Thomas and look to draft a SF in the 2018 draft. Thomas has proven to at least provide 3 and D attributes that are needed, but obviously we would eventually need an upgrade.

Defense will be off the charts good and finishing ability is tier 1 NBA. We as a team need defense first and it starts right on ball. If he could shoot--he might go 1.

Completely agree. If he develops his shot he will be a superstar.

I don't think this is worth its own thread, but Berman says according to an "NBA source" the Knicks are intrigued by Josh Jackson and they'd consider taking him if he's there when they pick. I'm down with that.
