Knicks · The Official 2017 Man UP Thread - will the Knicks win 32 games or more? (page 1)

I may be going out on a limb and counting this Toronto game as a loss before it's over. But Toronto is about to double us up so

we stand at the mid way point of the season 18 & 23.

To match last season's win total, we have to go 14 & 27 the rest of the way.

So many of you laughed at anyone who thought we'd struggle again. Well, you've seen our key additions - Noah, Rose, Lee, Jennings. And we stink bad just like last year.

So, Man up - and post whether you think they can match or exceed last year's win total, and whether you thought they would be this bad?

I for one thought we might struggle - I forget but I might have thought 35-37 wins.

At this stage - I don't think we'll match last year's win total. I'm thinking 28.

To me it's better if we either somehow shock everyone and make the playoffs or just suck and continue this losing trend rest of the way. If we keep winning only once in every 5-6 games we may close out with 25-27 wins and a top 7 pick. On the flip making the playoffs is still great for KP even if we are swept early.

I'm rooting for a tailspin that just never ends that finally leads to a Melo trade or a late season surge that pushes us back in the playoffs.

Basically I want 41 wins or more or 27 wins or less. The in between is likely where we end up but we are playing so bad right now it's looking like we may just win once in every 5 or 6 games rest of the way.

It might be close but it shouldn't be. We should do everything possible by fair play or foul to get rid of Anthony and Rose if not Noah as well. This team is terrible and we need younger, faster, hungrier players. Guys who have some pride in their defense, guys who want to improve and learn systems and how to get better as a basketball player. If Jackson continues to sit watching this crap taking his MILLION DOLLARS a month then he's a total con artist.

I release Rose after the trading deadline if we don't find a taker.

He's 28 and has prime years ahead. He has shown good health and great athleticism this year. I don't know but I think as an asset he is valuable. However all depends on his contract. If it's north of 20 million a year, 3 years in length, pass. However I think without Melo, Rose has more value with KP. We need an elite player next to KP to draw some attention. Rose can get to the basket at will and allows some space for KP. I rather trade him but keeping him on a good deal wouldn't be the worst idea if Melo is traded.

Did you read the article on usefulness and Rose? Rose doesn't pass.

Give me Langston Galloway over Rose.

I keep on wondering if a deal might be possible with Sacramento.

Looking increasingly unlikely we even make the 32 wins. We have lost 11 of the last 13!!!!
crzymdups @ 1/16/2017 4:19 PM
No - the wheels have come flying off. Looking like 27 wins to me.

Just pray they keep that draft pick.

markvmc @ 1/16/2017 8:58 PM
Curse my starry-eyed optimism and my 36 win prediction. Will I ever learn?

That puts us in the top 8 maybe higher drafting wise. I like that. We'll be able to do something significant with that pick. Say what you want about Phil, at the very least he has shown he can draft well. KP, Willy. Got Kuz. In the past picked up Langston outta nowhere. This year Ron Baker. Hopefully he and Gaines make a great pick.

Did Phil draft Kuz? I think he was an FA signing.

We will win more than 32. You know this team will make an unnecessary run late in the year once we are eliminated from the playoffs. The last 10 games is a weak schedule too.

and thus the "Got Kuz." separate sentence from KP, Willy.

Oh ok, the sentence confused me since he seemed to be saying drafting was the one thing Phil does well.
