Knicks · From Sunny Los Angeles: "I Told You So" . . . (page 1)

Malcolm @ 1/18/2017 5:22 PM
I'm following the Lakers now -- like I did before when Phil
Jackson was here.

It's not a great team, but Luke Walton is an interesting coach,
the team has some talent and is fun to watch (even if inconsistent).
I think they can get their act together here eventually and be
pretty good.

Although I'm truly sorry things are going so badly for the Knicks
(and for all of you long-suffering fans), I'm really glad to have
all of that behind me, let me tell you.

I walked away in disgust at the start of the season when the Knicks
traded away good-guy Robin Lopez and brought in over-the-hill
Noah and can't-play-the-Triangle, won't-play-the-Triangle Rose.

That was NEVER going to work -- despite the ludicrous rationalizations
about it put forward by some on this board (you know who you are).

Since I didn't stick around to bandwagon in case I was wrong, I
feel uniquely placed to say: "I told you so".

I'm sorry the Triangle never got a fair chance in New York. You
all missed an opportunity to build a great basketball culture in
the city . . .

smackeddog @ 1/18/2017 5:26 PM
The lakers are in worse shape than us! You owe future picks and don't really have a corner stone yet. Also their owner is Dolan the 2nd. You were outraged at Noah's contract but are cool with Deng and Mosgovs?!
GustavBahler @ 1/18/2017 5:45 PM
You told us you were a fake fan a long time ago.
crzymdups @ 1/18/2017 8:59 PM
Sorry the lowly Knicks beat the crap out of your "up and coming" Lakers.
smackeddog @ 1/19/2017 4:43 AM
Mosgov:

21mins 7.9pts 4.7 rebs 0.7 assists 0.5blks

2016-17 $16mil
2017-18 $16mil
2018-19 $16mil
2019-20 $16mil

Deng:

27mins 8.1pts 5.8 rebs 1.6Ast (39%FG)

2016-17 $18mil
2017-18 $18mil
2018-19 $18mil
2019-20 $18mil

Picks owed:

2017 first round draft pick to Philadelphia
L.A. Lakers' 1st round pick to Philadelphia (via Phoenix) protected for selections 1-3 in 2017 and unprotected in 2018 [L.A. Lakers-Phoenix, 7/11/2012; Milwaukee-Philadelphia-Phoenix, 2/19/2015]

2019 first round draft pick to Orlando
If the L.A. Lakers convey a 1st round pick to Philadelphia in 2017, then the L.A. Lakers will convey their 2019 1st round pick to Orlando; if the L.A. Lakers do not convey a 1st round pick to Philadelphia in 2017, then the L.A. Lakers will instead convey their 2017 2nd round pick and 2018 2nd round pick to Orlando [L.A. Lakers-Orlando, 8/10/2012]

But yes, you are in much better shape than us and have good reason to gloat...

GoNyGoNyGo @ 1/19/2017 7:51 AM
uhhh, really?
MaTT4281 @ 1/19/2017 1:24 PM
Thank you for this thread at a time Knick fans desperately needed to remember "it could always be worse".

Send a postcard next time.

Hey, maybe Lin will make a comeback with you. I hear Brooklyn will gladly take a few more #1's off your hands for him.

I don't think anyone on here needs a good bye note from you since you're not a real fan. Don't let the door hit ya in the azz on your way out and don't come back when we're a good team and KP is running this team.

crzymdups @ 1/19/2017 10:48 PM
It's funny how so many supposedly zen triangle dudes like to gloat about how right they are all the time.
