Yep.... And so many argued that Rosen was acting on his own. Think its time for Melo to give Phil the big FU. Demand trade, publicly name two teams he is willing to go to, maybe through a Rosen article, and leave Phil with no value in return. And until he gets traded, become the type of player everyone claims him to be.
Nah... That would be dick. Besides, he is way too professional, mature, and devoted to the city and his team mates to do that. That would also be lowering himself to the level of an unamed NY Knicks GM.

I knew it was real just by Melo's response. He quickly respondng like, if thats the case we need to have that talk, he didn't blow it off like it was any old beat right, "a source said" type of comment..
The media Put a direct name to where it was coming from, and rosen hasn't been wrong yet.
What a crappy way to handle things. Phil just continues to disappoint. Melo has handled it very professionally.
Where is this confirmed? Seems like just a theory with nothing to back it up.

So you say no. Got it. Imo, Rosen says they want to go a different direction, they meet with Melo, they offer him for Love. They being Phil.

I don't buy very much from media. They like to start drama and they know we are gullible.

It isn't the NY media it is Phil's guy. The guy who put out the Phil Files. Remember Larkin has such small hands?
Not sure how this helps the Knicks to leak this info. If anything you dont want to say anything that depresses his value. If this really is from Phil and not another source, the chances of him taking any crappy deal that comes along increases.
No good will come from telling the world a contender doesn't want your expensive player. Other teams are likely going to lower their offer now, if there are any. WTF?
Melo has a NTC. Phil goes tells him "I want to trade you". How well do you think that will play out for the Knicks?
Phil got Melo a star in Rose, and drafted some young good players. It was not like he was sabotaging his game or career. There is zero gain for NY to tell Melo they want to trade him.
All this talk and I think in the end Melo stays put.

I'm not talking about him, I'm talking about the media creating the rumors.

It would work out a lot better than leaking it through his mouthpiece. What is that but the most unprofessional way to go about things. Reminds of Isiah with Chaney. Also, I don't think that is how the conversation would go. While Phil's total lack of tact is surprising, I think he would talk to Melo about how they were thinking of going in a different direction etc.
I think you might really want Melo gone. I believe you said you liked the Faried/Shump trade.
Melo knew what was up. And so did everyone else in the NBA.
Horrible move for chemistry by Phil. So was not punishing Rose for going AWOL.
Anyway, I'm just ready to blow it up. If you can't beat this terrible Dallas team... what is the point of trying to make a playoffs run.
Wait how dare anyone question Phil he has won titles and knows how to deal with athletes. He is trying to create a positive culture by speaking bad when things are going well and shutting up and letting others speak for him when things are going badly.
Actually, it is all a win win for Phil. If the knicks continues to loose its all on Melo but if the knicks turn it around then phil is lauded as a great button pusher.

Yeah, Melo said something earlier about that - if the Knicks lose it's all on Melo, if they win it's everyone.
