These two are still on the knicks payroll but quietly still contributing?
We all blast Phil, some even suggest make Gaines the defacto GM.
PHil is the figure head but these guys with years of experience are part of a process of making decisions.
These two ran franchises and are well thought of.

I'd say that this collective does report to Dolan. Phil has two more years on his contract after this one. Im suprised they are still on the payroll and would be intersted to know how knicks run things.
I can't say what their voices are and how phil consults with them.
When we say "Phil bought in........" or "Phil drafted......", are we saying "They"???

Regarding Nalod and the NTC owned my Melo, I'd say that its better to have Melo as a trade chip then an empty roster spot had he signed elsewhere.
I wonder if the rockets have any interest still in him.
I young player, and a decent first rounder is still better than nothing. I would find it funny for Ainge if he rejects sending brooklyn's pick after he got such a good Haul for his aging tandem of Pierce and KG!

Rare if ever these guys chime in. Mills, Warkentein and Gabriel all have experience.
With all this, one would have hoped we would have achieved more with these reputations all on board.

Building teams is hard!!! This was a test run! Rose and Jennings are not permanent solutions at PG and so there was nothing wrong with Phil taking a shot at one more run with Melo. Unless they turn things around soon the experiment will end and Phil and his team move forward with the KP ERA. It's not really a very illogical approach.

The media is acting like we didn't come into this year knowing this was a test drive and that everything was backed up by having draft picks and the ability to let Rose n BJ walk. This was a calculated risk worth taking. STILL the Knicks have time to let this play out until the Trade Deadline!

Test run? yeah, could word it an "audition" as well. Im not sure if Rose is being held back by Melo. Seems like neither compliments each other. Im not verse enough as our think tank, but I have to trust when we "gave away" Tyson, or JR and Shump, it wasn't from a lack of trying. Try selling when nobody is buying. The notion that we devalue players by opening up our mouths is comical. to think other teams don't see whats going on!!!

Teams scout other teams and its evident.

When handicapped by a no trade clause, there is not a good market for him.

Knicks think tank is not a process. It's Phil and these guys trying to get Dolan to agree. It's more like childcare.

I think now the direction is getting more clear. The Knicks are working to find a deal to move Melo that works for the Knicks to be able to rebuild around KP. IF they can find a 3rd team it might just work out for the Knicks.
