No cp3 or Wade either... an end of an era imho.
I'm sure lots of people on here got very excited to see that. Unfortunately this is part of operation drive down value which will make us suck even more. Also kind of hysterical they put Millsap in over him. From pure watchability that's a no for me. Love also debatable. I don't care how many wide open corner 3s he makes.
Both being and not being an all star mean very little to me. I don't see it as a detriment that he didn't make it nor did I see it as cause for celebration when he did.

Yeah, feels that way, especially if you consider last year's game had Kobe and I believe Duncan, as well.

I feel the same way. It is always a hard game to watch anyway but at least if there is a knick in the game it makes it more fun.
NBA should add some Aging Star Competition game... (Can be also called Falling Starts Competition.)
So all old dudes who still can make buckets can show their stuff and have fun.

This is good news, i hope Melo rethinks who he is and how he plays now

Good idea, they are highly paid and people do want to see them play.
As for melo's value, I doubt all star status has little to do with it. For some players it has been a popularity voting. Sometimes players don't make teams when they deserve it but then get payback when they fade a bit.
Timmy was not an all star anymore but fans voted for him. melo's all star status does not win or lose us games.
Maybe this bit of melancholy gives him the sense of career mortality and time to fade from the bright lights of broadway into a role on an ensemble cast. Go join Horford and Thomas in Boston and play into June.

Love and Millsap are playing well and on much better teams. It's long been established that whenever two players have comparable production, the one on the better team gets the awards. (Love's production - even on defense! - is clearly ahead of Melo's this year, but Millsap's is comparable to Melo's.)
The past 3 seasons Melo received a FREE-PASS to the All-Star Games .. Melo performance hasnt been all-star status since the 2012-13 season.

I agree. I am aware that team record has become a bigger factor over time which may or may not be the best thing when you consider the roles some of those guys play. I don't know if Love is having a better season defensively. There is probably some advance stat for that but I am going off the eye test. Love accumulates 10 or so points a game unguarded. That's the luxury of being on a superior team though. I don't think it's some massive snub just that I think those too caught a bit of a break. I do feel a little bad bc the guy is taking a beating here.
He didn't deserve to be one this year point blank.
I feel bad for the guy, this is what he plays the game for to meet his peers in the All Star game. Melo put off surgery for the game just a few years ago. I'm gonna feel bad for him when they don't select him for the Olympics too. Now the brand is got to suffer I really like those Nike commercials you know the two guys pointing out his obvious flaws. I just got to say I hope Phil can find him a place where he can get a chip. Melo deserves that at least, he has been a good soldier on one side of the floor.
