Im just observing how Miami and Dallas just did complete and powerful reversals on their seasons. Theyre not beating GS tomorrow-but it shows just how much a good guard who plays the right way can effect a team.
In Miami they inserted Dion Waiters into the SL--he has played like an all star(look at assists numbers there) with Dragic--they score more points and defend better--what a difference!!
In Dallas they put S curry into the starting line up---I now think Curry is better than Derrick Rose. Rose is a me myself player---Curry plays systems basketball--not big assist numbers but hes not an iso player. Also they brought up Yogi F and hes been really really good. They outplayed Lillard Mccollum last night.
The things that get me upset at Phil--is I thought with our guard positions last summer it wouldve been a NO BRAINER after watching S Curry on the Kings--what a match for our team--and we did NOTHING?????? Players that we couldve got for nothing that couldve helped--we spend 60mm on Lee Noah Rose and jennings.
We do have Willy and KP but he needs to do a LOT better identifying players who might be cheap and can help now or develop and ONLY spend big on players who are UNDER 27 and are playing at peak level---NOT payiong a 32 YO C 17mm who was on a career nose dive. We could have aMUCH MUCH better line up now IF e did NOTHING else and we just signed S Curry--wed be 29-22 instead of the other way around and we wouldnt be talking about trading Melo.
So the BOTTOM line is Phil had a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE offseason and he needs to get it now--he cant do this again. Stop with the big guys and gte a couple of good GUARDS phil--actually we need 4 of them who play TEAM nasketball
Also Rose and Jennings on the same team with melo is TERRIBLE. iTs 3 players who need the ball????????????????????? What was he thinking????
I'm pretty sure we've all been saying this for a while now. I can't remember anyone ever asking for anything more than a true PG to play with Melo ever since J.Kidd left. It all starts with the PG and if you have one that does what he can to make the players on the court with him better then you'll win games. Melo isn't as big a problem as D.Rose is for this team and that goes for their defense as well. I've been saying that what we need is R.Rubio to come play with Melo and KP and the rest of this team.

Ian Clark is a must-get this summer in free agency. Stuck in GS, he can shoot and be a secondary ball handler. He's only 25. Very Under the radar.

Hopefully we can get a really good young guard in this draft. There are quite a few.
Also, I hope we keep Brandon Jennings. Guy has heart and showed tonight that he still has game.
i wanted to trade Rose for Dragic and Waiters, but that would of cost us our pick this year

PLEASE DRAFT A 2 WAY PG!!! At this point I'm convinced this is our BEST option. When you look at the options and the cost I don't think it makes sense to once again make the same mistake in Free Agency. How about doing the one thing this team seems to be good at and that's DRAFTING.

All the top PG's coming out of this draft are mocked going in the top 7/8 spots so i don't see how we're gonna be able to get one cause we're most likely not gonna be drafting in the top 8 or 10 of this draft. We could try to trade up but that's gonna cost to do that. Our biggest need is clearly a true PG for this team and we're not gonna be able to get any of the bigger name PG's in free agency but could have a chance at J.Teague or G.Hill and i'd still love to be able to find a way to get R.Rubio in a trade and if we can't get one of these veteran PG's then we absolutely have to find a way to trade into the top 5 of this draft.
I'd love to see who any of you guys on here that really pay attention to these college kids have as a legit PG we can get after the top PG's are gone in this draft?? So which PG is worth a high pick in this draft after these PG's are gone early in the draft.

I'd rather sign jru holiday unless I got a top 3 pick. Pg is the toughest position for a rookie. Having Jru Holiday would change a lot for this team IMHO

I actually don't know why i forgot to put him with G.Hill and J.Teague but yes he's on my list of free agents to get but he does get injured a lot and he gets the kind of injuries that seem to keep him out for substantial times.
