He almost went there as a free agent (granted Thibs was the coach and they were a serious contender back then) but with Wade & Butler he would fit in perfectly as their 4.
Knick can get young players back like Mirotec, McDermitt & a 1st round pick.
Bulls are more of a mess than us but without all the media attention
Yes but they are @ 500 playing better ball in the 7th playoff position. His buddy D.Wade's window is closing faster than Melo's (despite winning titles) Butler & Melo know each other well on team USA.
Would be a smart move by the Bulls to make the move.

Dwade and Butler blasted the role players, then Rondo blasted them for blasting the role players. Then the role players blasted Dwade and Butler. Butler blasted the owners and assistant coaches for spying on the locker room, then the assistant coach blasted Butler for blasting him. Their players don't match the coaches style, Wade is just about done and they have no 3pt shooting. They needed to rebuild but for some reason then signed Wade and Rondo. They're heading for a first round exit so no lottery pick. Meanwhile management want to trade Butler, and Butler said he doesn't trust them because they threatened him during negotiations for his first big contract.
Could you imagine if that had all happened with the Knicks?!

It would be anarchy. Fans and the media are going ham in us now.
I would think wizards are more likely
Boomer is calling out Melo right now perfectly. He is 100% right.

Well that's a hell of a lot of blasting going on in Chicago..lol
Melo could have went to Chicago when it was considered a "championship ready team." I really doubt Melo wants to go there now.

i think these guys and by these guys i mean, today's players, get off on playing on each other's team. i think wade and melo (along with lebron, cp3, etc) probably think they can win together if they were given the opportunity. add in butler and rondo, you might have something there. personally, i don't think the bulls would be any better, but it seems like these guys run their teams nowadays.
wishful thinking, but a possibility.

I hope you're right because any market for Melo is a good thing - I just can't see Melo deciding to leave for a team he already turned down that might not make the playoffs this year

Holy smoke. It's some kind of crazy when Rondo is the rational one!
Bulls starting 5 would look good on paper
Pg: Rondo
Sg: Wade
Sf: Butler
Pf: Melo
C: Lopez
Melo is a Jordan brand guy so playing in Chicago would not hurt the Melo brand. And he would be more appreciated.
I like the young players & the #1 the Knicks can potentially get.
Think is a great deal for everyone involved.
Melo can also opt out at the same time Wade's deal is up.
Are the wizards out of the question? they have porter (RFA) and oubre at the 3. one of those could be in a package back
they're playing well now and closer to Baltimore

I think the Wiz are much more likely destination than the Bulls.
Melo has posted pics of him vacationing in Washington. His family could stay in NY and he could get there in a couple of hours on high speed train or flying. That team is really good but not good enough. The "stars" that are there are Wall and Beal and his brand is bigger than both of theirs combined, meaning he'll still get the spotlight. Plus, as you say, Washington has the types of pieces we would want.
wade went to his retirement home
butler doesn't like the smell
rondo wants real vets
coaches want ownership to change
owners want to beat dolan at his own game
