Knicks · Forget the Noise!!!! (page 1)

Nalod @ 2/10/2017 1:01 PM

Im not ashamed of Knicks. THis is my team. Dolan is the owner. Before him, ITT screwed it up plenty. Fool's were offered DR. J but instead took cash.
Starphuched in the 1980's, etc.

Charles DOlan Hired Checketts and that was smart. Jimmy is not a good owner. He wants to win, but his petty insecurities have obstructed.
Some of you had it in for Phil from day one. For many, he is the Evil leader of the Bulls. For us old guys, he is a Knick first.

Im about the game. The busiess and Drama is funny, interesting and for fans depressing. I can seporate MSG weirdness vs. the Team.
Im rooting for Knick players. I not a died in the wool homer, but you have to earn my respect if your traded here. Drafted, your in the family but have to earn it to stay here.

NY is not an easy place. Players as free agents want to get paid, succeed and win. How many times we told how special the garden is and players look forward to playing here.
Its a crush on many. I admire Melo the person for sticking it out and being strong. But I also know he might not be whats best for the team now.

Isiah's and PHil's come and go. Marburys and Melo's as well. In the end, I follow the knicks.

Oak can be wrong and I still love him. MSG security might have screwed up, but that was in the stands, not on the court.
Its not one vs the other. Its not a wrestling match. Don't have to support the hero or villain.
Dolan won't ruin it for me, cuz I won't let him.
Phil Won't ruin it for me, I root for his success, not his failure.
Melo won't ruin it for me, I root for his success as well. I root for a good trade, I root for a positive outcome.
I don't root for Nalod to be right and win an argument.

Well said and i'm with you on this. We have a lot of petty azz fans that love to always assume the worst when anything happens with the Knicks, i could easily confuse people on here for being some of our garbage azz new york media people we have when something happens with the Knicks and they always look straight to the negative and instead of looking for any positive. I understand how bad this team has been from the top to the bottom for many years and how hard it can be to stay positive but the negativity is astronomical with some fans.
callmened @ 2/10/2017 1:16 PM
i get it...but you have to admit, this is EMBARRASSING for the franchise. my non knick friends just have tons of jokes.
SupremeCommander @ 2/10/2017 1:26 PM
I was fortunate enough to see the Knicks pre-Little Jimmy and well thank God. Who I really feel for is the kids. There is an entire generation that has never seen the Knicks be good. You need to be loud about this for the god damned kids man.

Im embarrassed when they get blown out. Im not embarrassed when Isiah engages in Sexual harassment, or when Larry is prevented from talking on company property, or when Marbury towels up.
when Knicks have a lottery pick and another team is getting the player.

MSG is an entertainment company whose CEO is a petty little man insecure with his legacy. Much like Trump. Its hard to root for his success, but like our president, if country wins, he wins.
Knicks win, MSG wins.

I root for the knicks success! Phils success! And Melo's success!

smackeddog @ 2/10/2017 1:29 PM
I'm numb to the embarrassment now, don't care about it after nearly twenty years. I do hate Dolan though, but since Phil got here it's been like he doesn't exist, which has been nice
arkrud @ 2/10/2017 1:31 PM
I am rooting for Rangers and Knicks from 1999.
Both teams went through bad times and Knicks never get out.
Was thinking why it is so?
Same owner, same building, same city, many of the same fans.
Where the Knicks franchise went wrong?
And I see only one main reason - to many Me-People.
Players, Executives, GMs, coaches who are a celebrated personalities but are totally about themselves.
I am tired of this "my game" and "my team" and "my.. my... my"
Club need people who are about "us", about the "team", about the "organization", about the "NY".
We need a lot of them. Then we will have success like Rangers enjoy already for 10 years under the same roof.
I will be much happier with booms who are all-team that self entitled-stars we see over and over again for 20 years.
But hope died last so I am still waiting...

This is not so embarrassing. Every organization goes through something like this. We just never hear about it. Remember the Clippers, Lakers Bulls are going through it too. Portland back in the day. The media blows shyt out of proportion and makes it bigger than it really is. The Knicks fans eat that up. What Knicks fans need to do is enjoy the show and let it play out.

At the end of the day, all the matters is we have KP, Willy, and all of our draft picks moving forwards. The outside noise and off the court stuff doesn't matter. Phil needs to continue to guide this team in the right direction for the future, even if the present is so messed up.

I have 4 kids. I am trying really hard to get them to be Knick fans like me. My youngest who is 12 is an OKC fan. He said that its really hard to root for the Knicks because of Dolan. He said that the Knicks always sucked. Its tough to make new Knick fans. Hopefully KP and Willy can get them back.

I agree. Phil really just wants players that sacrifice for the TEAM and the guys he tries to add or draft mostly fit that description. The problem is the guys that are supposed to be leading by example are not buying into the TEAM CONCEPT. The only hope is NEW BLOOD. The Draft is going to be paramount for resolving what's been wrong with the franchise IMO.

We need more talented, good kids that don't have agendas or selfish attitudes. That will change the reputation of the franchise for the better!

I agree.

I have been a fan since I was 4 years old listening to the games with my dad on the radio. I remember Marv, Clyde, the Pearl, Jackson, Wingo and so on! I was devastated when Clyde was traded.

The rest is history as they say. The current Knicks are a mess but they have been worse.

Team basketball is exactly what Phil wants for the KNicks. It is how he grew up in the league! He preached it everywhere and even though he had HOF players, they all bought in. Now, they are not.

My hope is that Melo finally realizes this and it clicks. My head says he will not. Whether he does or not, all I care is that NY wins!

It's sad because if your not at least 21 yrs old, you know the knicks as losing lottery team, bottom of the barrel, dysfunctional...we had one decent era, and that was walsh end glenn..Isaiah and Phil have been really bad..

But according to espn, Phil now has the worse record as President of the franchise in the teams 70 yr existence..

I don't really have fond memories of the Walsh era- they weren't good times (maybe the first 2 months with Amar'e)

A LOT will depend on this coming draft and summer moves. I really like the young players Phil has brought in and if he can have a couple more successful drafts that would be HUGE for this team. I really don't think enough Media and Fans are focusing on this fact. Yeah the losing has been rough but in the end Phil had ONE 1st rd Pick in all this time and now he's likely to have another shot at it this year. He's tried to hold on to the picks and add youth where he could. If we could be fortunate enough to land one of the top guards in this draft then this could turn around for this franchise.

StraightShot @ 2/10/2017 5:09 PM
I'm heartened to see that you guys now accept that Dolan is our owner and deserving of praise. He's doing a great job by giving Phil a free hand and I commend him, as I know you all do.
crzymdups @ 2/10/2017 5:42 PM
Fuck Jim Dolan. He's a coward.
nixluva @ 2/10/2017 5:50 PM
Personally I don't think it matters whether we like Dolan or not. He's stayed out of basketball decisions and intends to let Phil do his job. That is a good thing! We need to stop the merry go round in the front office. The Media and some fans always start the drumbeat for guys to get fired but in this case I think we need to let Phil finish what he started.

It might not seem like it with the losing but there's been progress under Phil. Progress with the younger players rather than the older vets!!! He's gonna have more opportunities to add more young talent so let's see how that goes.

crzymdups @ 2/10/2017 5:56 PM
Dolan is friends with Trump. Dolan was sporting Under Armour today on the Michael Kay show. Dolan made the Rockettes perform for Trump even though they didn't want to. Dolan presided over Anucha Brown's sexual harassment at the Garden and still won't admit Isiah was guilty of it and will probably hire Isiah again when Phil is gone. Dolan is a former alcoholic who accused with little to no evidence Charles Oakley of being an alcoholic. That's slander by the way. Oak can sue. The NBA players association will probably pay for it.

The Knicks will never be a winning organization as long as Dolan is there. His petty incompetence rings through the halls at the Garden. I hope he leaves, but we all know he never will. Owning the Knicks is the only thing he's ever "accomplished."

"James Dolan" is trending worldwide on Twitter. The comments aren't nice. Sorry, everyone sees through him.

He picked a stupid battle and fought it clumsily. This will not end well for him.
