Denver was down 3 starting players
and on a long road trip.
We could not stop them in any shape or form at home.
While we could put this on the players(and there is blame there)--the coach has been TERRIBLE this year--worst coach weve ever had. He cant come up with a fcking scheme to atleast give us a chance not to give up 60 EVERY game? Its a joke. If I had to sit someone including carmelo--I would. If I had to play Oquinn at C for 45 minutes--I would. The changes in the line up have no meaning because his mentality is not working. There HAS to be a way to play better than this mockery and he cant get it done???? I dont think this team is THAT bad--it certainly isnt good--but if they cant figure out how to double a man when hes hot like Jokic--he shouldnt be taking a big check like that.
It goes back to Dolan and on down. Dolan cant hire the right people and he doesnt care. The people he hires are not the right fit and there is always a problem with the players.
We NEED some tough guys--we need someone with a Dray Green mentality--we are SUPER soft. I dont understand what Phil Jackosn has done--when he was coaching he had tough guys--he know this--Phil where is the tough guys? Dont blame it on Carmelo???? You cant force someone into something hes not---we could have worked with Carmelo instead of btching about him. This is Dolan and Phils mess 100% NOT the players.
Id advise to find a tough minded player next year who can eventually be a long term captain among other things we need. We NEED to get TOUGH--we need tougher players.
In THREE full years you should atleast be able to change the culture. The year we had guys like kidd Rasheed Camby Martin--we had leaders--we havent had even ONCE since.. I dont think PHIL did his due diligence with J Noah which is scary because he spent 17mm a year. Hes an older guy who doenst have the energy to get the job done. And the guys below him--specifically Mills and those two other guys are rehash from TERRIBLE Knick teams.
I saw Danny Ainge out in Utah last week at a game. Phil is sitting in his luxury New York apartment tweeting making huge jack. A REAL President GM would be out trying to find players like Ainge does.
I'd like to hear from all the people on here that keep saying KP needs to play center full time. Jokic is one of the smaller centers in the league that i thought KP would be able to hold his own against but that wasn't the case at all. He's got a lot of work but i think what i've been saying about how he's not ready for a full time center role held true after last nights game.

KP gets beaten every night by the other team's big. He's not ready for anything.
This is a joke of a thread. Yeah Briggs your the man but you would make more mistakes than Phil and you have no cap to work with. Rose is a former MVP Noah is a former DPOY. Lee is suppose to be solid. How many leaders are there in the NBA? Name them I bet you couldn't get them because they are under contract with other teams try getting them to part with them. This thread is dumb and I find Knicks fans are losing it. One freaking incident with a retired player living in the past and everyone loses it. Oakley was a good player for the Knicks but let's face it the guy is associating himself with guys like Jayson Williams. I know Dolan is an a-hole. But stop the doom and gloom BS. The future is still bright.
The team right now is demoralized because it's main player isn't much of a leader and everyone is following suit. He needs to be lead but there are no leaders that you could put on the Knicks and change this situation. It has to get done through the draft. By the way Ainge was in Utah because he went to BYU. The Knicks fans have become rabid and they are eating everything up like yesterday's news.

OK KP does not get beat every night. He may not have been successful recently but overall he's been a better player than some are giving him credit for being. He's a 2nd year player and I think he's not exactly being helped by the guys around him, namely the starters, to be even better. We all admit that KP has more developing to do but is that a surprise for a young player? This hasn't been the nurturing environment that he needs either.
Without question KP out there with bench guys like Holiday and Willy is a FAR superior group and when this team makes the move towards the younger guys rather than the older vets, that will start the process of building towards a better team. Melo mixed with the more active younger guys is a better way to go than the starters!!!
Jokic is a top 5 player in this league. He isn't just an undersized center.
We react the way we should- move melo, move Rose, keep losing, get a high pick, repeat next season and rebuild via the draft- it's not rocket science. At this point what exactly is the other strategy?

Just do it without embarrassing the organization and getting taken to the cleaners again.

"He's a second year player." Yeah, so is Jokic, who exposed him pretty badly.

Who cares this will be water under the bridge. It's momentary state of reaction.

Do you think so? This is a generation of players that hasn't been coached by Phil. But they have seen him comment on LBJ, handle the Melo situation horribly and trash players in the Phil files. I don't think this goes away that quickly.
Time to focus on the draft, Briggs. This team is done. I'd be surprised if they won more than 6 games the rest of the season.

Let's hope they don't. I celebrated last night, just like I do every time we lose. It's exactly what we need to be doing for the remainder of this season. The crowd SHOULD be chanting NO-D every game.
Of course, losing sucks and is demoralizing. But that's the pain we need to go through to get our second lottery draft pick. With that pick (hoping for Fox) and KP, we will have a solid core. In another year or two when they hit prime years, we add solid vets at the 2 and 3 to start making our run.
There are NO short cuts. Let's get this handled for once.
They've only won 8 of the last 31 games! Hard to believe it's been that brutal a stretch. I think they must be used to losing by now though.

yeah, I'm torn- I hate Rose and want him gone, but at the same time, like Bargs did, he helps the team lose by playing no defense, not trying, destroying team chemistry, etc etc
evidently our greatest need is defensive rebounding:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/26923...
And that probably wouldn't be the issue if we kept Lopez.
I'm sorry, but Phil fucked this up with his Rose/Noah swap with Lopez.
Our record might not be better, but I think we wouldn't be an embarrassment and stuck with Noah.
When will we ever learn?

But then we'd have a poorer draft pick, so I'm not sure how you'd get the melo, Lopez team to get much better.

Jokic had a great night but he doesn't do that every night. KP actually has had big nights like that and KP still has better defensive win shares on the season than Jokic. Just cuz Jokic has moved ahead of KP in his development at this point doesn't make that a permanent situation. We'll see how things continue to develop over time! People are acting like this is all said and done!
Melo is good player, but he is not a leader, not a natural gifted leader, he is trying to be leader, but that is not the same, we need really strong leader
