Hopefully it means that he and Melo are off to Cleveland...
he was the one guy I didn't want to trade- in part, because he came here at a discount, unlike everyone else.
I hope this is not the case, and we'd better be getting something really good if we are trading him.

I actually agree. I wanted to keep him on for next year and beyond. I liked his heart. I hope he's not traded. But who knows.

Then Melo would be sitting too.

If he is traded I wonder if we are allowed to sign him in the offseason? I think we can.
He is on the Knicks bench fwiw... but maybe the Knicks told him they're shopping him? Who knows...

Agreed. He has his flaws but plays with passion and wants to be a knick.
I hope not true
BJ is a much better point guard than Rose
But that is also maybe why he is more attractive in a trade
If we get a first round pick I would not be upset
Anything less I'll be
He makes the second unit, KP and players around him better.
There's no way we're getting a first rounder for a 30 game rental.
If he was locked up on that deal we could get a 1 but not w the present one
Sure he "wants to be a knick", and he came at a discount, but lets not fool ourselves, he was able to secure a nice role here to start many games as Drose back up and get major minutes with second unit. Its an audition to play, and if he makes good he will solidify questions regarding his play and health. If Shump is worth 10mm for 4 years, Certainly this kid is all that and perhaps a bit more.
Bakers development might make Jennings expendable and perhaps he was not seen as a long term staple as a starter. I doubt we get much in return except some good will.
If he is not in our long term plans and he can play a solid role for a contender Phil would be doing him a big favor in raising his off season value even if we don't get much in return. AND WHEN YOU DO STUFF LIKE THAT FREE AGENTS TAKE NOTICE. WE GOT SHUMP PAID AS WELL. NOTHING WORSE THAN TRADEING A PLAYER WHO THEN GETS CUT BY THE NEW TEAM. IF YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR PLAYERS, ITS A GOOD THING. Some fans see moving them to good situations as "giving them away". We could trade players and if they fail its "a good trade" for knicks?
I like Jennings but he would be a valuable chip. I don't expect a 1st round pick but even a couple second rounders would be decent

I think youre dead on with that. 2 2's are likely. Hopefully we can get a couple of throw away young players as well. The only guys I saw for a trade market was Jennings and Oquinn.

I disagree. We won't get a lotto pick but I think a first is definitely in play. How many decent back up point guards are available?

Probably quite a few actually.

name them
There are so many out there that Cle held a workout for guys like Kirk Heinrich. Tony Wroten? Mardy Collins? Jennings could help a lot of teams. I would not be surprised at all if a late #1 was in play.

Hey, who wouldn't want a first rounder. I just think it's unrealistic. His best traits are he's a willing passer and wants to be a knick. His worst traits are an inconsistent shot and very undisciplined play: he literally throws away the ball at times (not bad passes -- atrocious ones; just hand the ball to the other team passes); he also will couple some good D with unnecessary zealousness -- i.e., stupid fouls. Those things add up. Think how many games we've lost by a couple of points.
I'm all in on a first rounder but suspect if he's traded it's part of a package or we're getting a second rounder and hopefully leaving on good terms to resign him
i'd be happier at this point if Drose was moving for whatever is being considered
