Knicks · Oak not taking the Olive Branch, he is doubling down...... (page 1)

Draymond enabled Oak to this level. A Double down.
Oak said this was about "the fans". Not any more. Oak is looking for the court of public opinion.
This is not about the knicks, this is about Oak, a former employee and the CEO of MSG corp.
IM tired of ESPN, Billups, Jaelen making more of this than need be. This "Turmoil" is not baskeball related.
The "Turmoil" mixed in with Melo is not related. Oak/Dolan is not a basketball issue.

Oak comparing Sterling to Dolan is silly. The Cablevision empire that is MSG was not built on the same model as sterlings wealth.
Sterling's downfall was a history of questionable practices and lawsuits with an apex of a girlfriend who disclosed his racist tendencies.
Dolan is a paranoid little man with a Napoleonic complex. He is deplorable in many ways, but comparison to Donald Sterling is not accurate.
Oak if he wants to win this war needs to have a credible take. Im not so sure he is.

TheGame @ 2/16/2017 4:03 PM
The reporter made more out of what Oak actually said. But Oak should try to take the high and just stop talking about it.
crzymdups @ 2/16/2017 4:13 PM
Yeah, I saw someone say "be careful not to lose an unloseable war" in the court of public opinion.

Oak has a right to be hurt and he has a right to dislike Dolan... but this isn't going to get him anywhere.

From what I've understood of Oakley and had verified by accounts of players, he says what he means and means what he says. And what he has said is that he is holding out for an apology to the fans by Dolan (and co) for badly mismanaging this team. After all, the last time we went further than the 2nd round was 17 years ago and have only made the playoffs three times during that period! And instead of subjecting themselves to the criticism they rightfully deserve, Dolan and his henchman have decided to insulate themselves from criticism by ejecting fans that are critical of them and limiting access to reporters that are critical of them. He deserves to shed national attention on the bullshit going on and demand real change. Fans have made the Knicks the most profitable franchise in league history; we deserve better.

The reporter is trying to spin this with racial overtones..I'm not sure that's entirely the direction Oak was going..He could have meant forced to sell his franchise because of his antic in the Garden which Oak alluded to..Dolan antics, control freak, weren't racial in Oakley's discussions..You have to hear the interview..Can't always trust the spin..Onward..

Nalod @ 2/16/2017 6:34 PM
Oak took it to Donald Sterling level. Not sure Oak meant to go there, maybe he took a wrong turn, but thats where he at.

Dolan made him out to be a junkie or an alcoholic..He took it there...Oak gonna hit back..

so we got Oak as Lamar Odom but enraged, and Dolan as Sterling but without the girlfriend. Two of a perfect pair.+

IS this La La next to Sterling?

Is that Sterlings wife to his right? Just funny, nothing else.

BasketballJones @ 2/17/2017 4:11 PM
Maybe Oak doesn't like olives.
BasketballJones @ 2/17/2017 4:12 PM
Maybe try a booze branch instead.

Oak = Knick Great
Dolan = Garbage

That's pretty much all there is to this, as far as I'm concerned.

Oak is a fool with a big mouth. Always has been, always will -- he just can't keep that big mouth shut and this isn't going to turn out well for him in the long run.

“I welled up when I saw what happened to Oak,” Roberts said. “Of course I was affected by that.”

Crying for Oak, oh please!!!!!

“Melo is like my brother,” Paul said. “Anything affecting him at times it can affect me. I can’t speak for his team or what’s going on there but it’s probably not beneficial when you’re talking about your players in the paper.”

This is some soft shyt going on. Melo got called out for not moving the ball, not for his manhood, not for not being nice to children, or mean to hello kitty, wTF is all this? treating Melo like he is persecuted? Dude makes 28mil, got a NTC and that ain't respect??? really?

WE got Deandre Jordan, who couldn't leave Clippers and foiled on a deal with dallas. What is wrong with these guys? What in gods name is happening to these pussified glory divas?

We crying for Oak? Really? This guy is just as culpable as Dolan and he playing the victim? This tough man who slapped around men on the court, and is a bully off is all bent cuz Dolan messing him up????? C'mon now, stop this nonsense, if he wants his day in the center court shake the mans hand. If not, keep walking and hold your head up. Oak don't need some cheese half time show, he is loved for his play 20 years ago. Having a vaginal sprain is not the oak we are use to!!! This guy gets free passes for being "Oak" but the dude is just rude as hell.

Oak vs eveyone:

"I'm really pissed about how they brought those guys back to sit with him," Oakley said. "Bernard King is a legend and everything, but he went through an incident where he was wronged in college by the police. And I can't respect Sprewell. These guys were flown in town to make him look good. I can't respect those guys no more."

Honestly I saw his episode with Jayson Williams and I lost so much respect for Oakley. I was thinking you trying to help this murder. Go help kittens off a tree go feed the needy. Anything but help a duchebag like Williams.

While I appreciate Oakley and his style of play on the court I do believe him to be a A hole off the court to many incidents.

Spree said he was asked to go to the game the day before the game. He hadn't been in the garden forever. You don't think it was a move by Dolan in response to the Oakley incident?
nyknickzingis @ 2/17/2017 11:08 PM
It's just a pathetic situation on all fronts.

No one handled this well, including Dolan and Knicks.

I blame both sides.

It was. Dolan is a an arse. Nobody saying Dolan is not right. Bernard King has been in the fold has is Larry Johnson. Forget the fans love of them, they are culpable for accepting the invite. Bernard has been in the fold agains for some time.
In the end, Oak is taking everyone down with him.

Oak was at the all star festivities, well behaved and no security around him...Lots of retired players there hamming it up with players on teams they once played for...Doesn't make us look good...

The whole Melo thing with Phil just adds to it...Poorly run organization and continues to be..

This sort of thing doesn't help. Phil is involved just enough to muck things up.
Reed, who talks to Jackson often after playing with him on the Knicks’ only two title teams in the 1970s, said the Zen Master’s biggest regret is he hasn’t found a coach like him. Jackson has had four during his reign: Mike Woodson, Derek Fisher, Kurt Rambis and now Hornacek.

“At this point, he wishes he had been able to do is create another Phil Jackson,’’ Reed said. “That would be the most satisfying thing. With all the rings he has, he’d like to transfer all that knowledge and ability to get people to play at a certain level.’’
