why, as long as ROSE continues to be a PG that can't pass or shoot a 3 consistently, he's not a good fit on any team
fishmike wrote:http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/244...Makes sense... contract is fat but the guy can score. He's just a bad fit here.
Good, this is the guy we need to trade more than even Melo. He might not play defense but the things he does getting to the basket and the things he does to get the ball in the basket are pretty amazing. He makes some layups that still shock the heck out of me that he gets them to go in. He should be worth something good for us. Ibaka just got a good 6th man in T.Ross and a 1st round pick and he's also a free agent after this year.
Nalod wrote:Reggie/Drummond for Rose/Hernangomez.Just made this shyt up, not read any rumor to this effect other than Drummond could be had.
I like Willy, a lot. Love the ball movement epecially, but Drummond next to KP could be intense.
Reggie could get re-educated, spend time at the ranch with Phil and find his inner child.
I've heard that Reggie isn't that easy to get along with for teammates so if that's true then i don't want him especially when we're trying to build a real team. I want my guys loving playing with each other. Love his talents but just don't know about his personality.
"needs to take it to the rim...."
We read so many PG's need to do this. Rose does it amazingly.
I am no here to rain praise on him. I like the experiment and not sure I like all aspects of his play. But his drives and finish around the basket is amazing.
Im stuck in "Hope" that he can further his game. Not everyone will agree with this, but I'll defer to Phil that he'll make the best decision he can without the benefit of reading tea leaves or having a crystal ball.
IN the absence of Rose there is his cap space if we let him walk. To fill that up with Reggie Jackson, and perhaps Rubio seems like "its a better fit than Rose", but is that good enough?
To have traded RoPez and Grant was worth the look for Rose. So far his health has held up and his talent is returning. The AWOL, no so good! Not fatal in my view. For all we know, it might be the very thing that gets him exiled, or its nothing. His history follows him and anyone wanting to sign him knows this.
Twolves make the most sense. What is Rubio's contract. Theres some addition by subtraction by simply moving Rose to better conform with team ball. Rubio will pass. but what are we saddled with contract wise.
It could be something bizarre too -- Rose for Willy Cauley Stein and some other stuff. (We seem to be enamored with bigs)

SAC, that's interesting. Mclemore? WCS? If SAC loved the idea of Rondo, they'll love Rose and perhaps pay him.
looked at their roster, I forgot Affalo is getting 12mil per year from them!!! Whoa!

Rose is what he is. He will never be a true pg. You are right he is terrifc at going to the rim but thats about it. He was always gonna be a 1 year rental unless we were a big contender and he had a big year

It's imperative that the Knicks create a window of opportunity 3-4 years from now. With that said move Rose for pick or picks. Time to stack up on young players that will hopefully come into their own 3-4 years from now.

No it doesn't- why choose Rose over Holiday?
Money... they dump Asik. It doesn't have to be Holiday. Trade works with either Holiday or Tyreke. I'd rather have Tyreke

Look at the Kings salaries- you'd have to take on a stinker of a contract:

$13mil this season, $14mil next season then final year of $15mil
This is a kinda hilarious trade suggestion from Simmons - Rose to Brooklyn for Lin to piss off Melo.
New York trades Derrick Rose to Brooklyn for Jeremy Lin and one more devious way to frustrate Carmelo into waiving his no-trade clause.

The best trade for Rose would be Jeremy Lin ....
Rubio equal Calderon with lesser defense n lesser points
Reggie Jackson would rather go to any team as long as its not the Knicks
The Denver Nuggets got the offense/defense big-men for a pass-first PG Rubio not Rose.
Rose is the best PG we have had in a long long time. It sounds like I am in the minority but I wouldn't want to just dump that. The AWOL thing left a bad taste in my mouth but the guy can drive like no other.

Then trade for Jared Dudley and sign that former Boston guard who taunted him about what KG said about his wife

How is Rubio equal to Calderon but with less defense???

that would be too awesome. hahaha
Have always been disappointed that Rubio did not work on his shot, but with us he would have a good pick and roll target with Willy, and 2 scorers, Melo and KP who would benefit from his passing.
I think KP would benefit the most from Rubio.
For the T-Wolves it would be a way to move Rubio's salary, but they are not too far from making the playoffs in the West.
Do Rose and Thibbs want a reunion, by the way? Is this a factor at all?
