My prediction is that Rose, if healthy, will be a borderline all star next year with a few tweaks to his game with the right coach..

Great. Do you think its wise for the knicks to invest 20M per year for a borderline allstar only if they find the right coach, he stays healthy and if he tweaks his game. Thats alot of things that need to fall into place.

So the answer is to keep flipping the roster/coach every six months and not look at the root the team's/organization dysfunction?

How do you know they aren't?

Indeed. And all that will happen the minute a max contract is signed.

Funny how there are zero leaks coming from the Knicks yet posts like this are given credibility. No one knows what the front office is doing so why jump to conclusions like this?

Melo and Rose are scapegoats..The public display orchestrated in the press..That's normal behavior?

Yeah. Also, Wojo does not appear to be a fan of Phil. This might just be out there to make Phil look bad.

So 1st day on the job and Magic snags a 1st rd pick from the Rockets. From Phil we get that he isn't concerned about the return, he just wants the player we traded for and gave up our starting center to get gone? Oh wait, it did clear a starting roster spot for his big FA signing Noah. Yup, it's all good. Our fresking coach wasn't even allowed to select his own assistants and our president tells him how to run the offense. What a train wreck we are. The model of franchise stability.

If only these damn reporters would treat Trum... I mean PHIL fairly. Just look at the won/loss record, folks! Stop reading the fake news!

The Vertical did a facebook live hour with Wojo, Mannix and Marks. It is over but I am listening to it now. Hoping to get context for the statement.

Tom Thibodeau is reportedly making a push to strike a deal for Derrick Rose.
Thibs reported infatuation with Rose is a bit strange, but it does sound like a three-way trade between New York, Minnesota and Detroit involving Rose, Ricky Rubio and Reggie Jackson is brewing. This is a situation we'll be monitoring closely as the deadline approaches.

If Pistons and Jackson are involved, and Thibbs wants Rose, wouldn't that mean Jackson would be coming here?

I guess. That would suck unless #1 pick involved

Reggie Jackson is the best player in this trade... as is the trade is even. If the Knicks get a 1st round pick on top of getting the best player in the deal, some one is smoking Crack.

Reggie Jackson used to be good last season but this season he has been awful chemistry wise (team mates fed up of his selfish ways) and physically (not the same player since his knee tendinitis. He only cares about himself and being a big star, not so much about winning. I'd hate to end up with him

Magic had lou Williams to offer. Hornacek did get to choose his own assistants so why lie about it? Woj claims Phil doesn't want much for rose- why would Phil leak that? He wouldn't, it's coming from a team that wants rose to try and drive down the price.

I think Wojo has an ax to grind with Phil. He is very critical, i.e. Nuggets are doing everything to build around Jokic, the Knicks haven't figured that out with Porzingis, everything they did last summer went against developing Porzingis etc.. But, Hornacek didn't choose Rambis. He certainly didn't ask for Rambis to be his associate head coach or to run the defense on his team. He didn't ask for that. Rambis was horrible last year and the players didn't care for him. To force him onto Jeff's staff was a mistake. To push the triangle in today's nba is imbecilic especially if you don't have the personnel to do it. Phil could still have Rambis getting a check from the Knicks in a different position.

Hornacek was given a a choice as to whether he kept Rambis (Phil recommended he did) - he could have stepped up and said no, but I get the impression Hornacek struggles to do that sort of thing

I don't recall that. What I do remember is that Jeff denied that he was forced to have Kurt be his defensive assistant/associate head coach very early in the season when Kurt's new position was announced. Is there a link to his making the decision on Rambis being chosen by Jeff to be on his staff? I always thought Kurt was Herb with more power from Phil and given the task of forcing the triangle onto the players.

I found it.
Phil Jackson said that Kurt Rambis fits with the New York Knicks as an assistant coach, and it appears that Jackson will get his wish. Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek has signed off on Rambis joining his staff and negotiations are underway on a new contract, according to ESPN's Ian Begley:
Phil later named Kurt associate head coach in charge of defense.http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/report...
TheGame @ 2/22/2017 5:29 AM
We have been talking about this Rose trade for awhile. Phil needs to just get it done. There is no way Minny is taking back Noah's contract, so if we are holding out for that, we might as well forget that pipe dream. And there is no way we should include KOQ in the deal. KOQ is worth a first round pick by himself. Deal should be Rose for Rubio and second round pick.
Chandler @ 2/22/2017 7:48 AM
Does the Woj tweet make any sense? Can't the Knicks simply banish Rose to the bench for 25 games. Cmon don't be so gullible. HAving said that we should calibrate expectations for a 25 game rental

Also what's with all the criticism of the triangle. Whether you like it or not, it's not why we're losing. We're losing because of a porous defense that consistently yields 30+ point first quarters (and often 2ds 3ds and 4ths )
