Phil Jackson is so bad if he let Bjinca hold up the deal when he is no better than Kuz
Knew it.
Nothing on deadline.
Probably going to start a real rebuild in the offseason and first move is a Melo trade.

That would be really bad. I am sure it will come out. A TWolves reporter tweeted that Thibs was meeting with reporters at 3:00. It has been five months to the day since Phil has met with reporters.

I don't buy that... you can call the league office and say that you're negotiating in order to get a deal done after 3pm. I don't believe it is a hard deadline

Oh wait no this is a smoke screen. He is just making up stuff to discredit phil because every writer hates the knicks.

Sounds like the deal got hung up because the Knicks wanted more for Rose.
Eh...I am ok with it. Let his contract expire.
Rubio would have been nice.
But I don't know what the Wolves were looking at. Some of the reports I read were that they wanted O'Quinn. I don't know if it was ever a straight swap.
On contract for next year:
Noah/Hernangomez
Porzingis/O'Quinn
Melo/Thomas/Kuz
Lee/Holiday * (Only early bird rights)
We'll have our 2017 draft pick probably a top 10 lottery pick.
We'll now have close to $25 million in capspace.
Looks like we're still going to be re-making our backcourt.
It comes down to Rubio vs capspace. Lets see if we can get a better player than Rubio in free agency.

we might get a better one, but Rubio was on an old contract and his deal is going to look cheap compared to whoever we sign
Yeah, but we may also get a better point guard. One name that comes to mind is Jrue Holiday. Phil is a big fan of Justin, so maybe the two brothers want to unite in NY. If Jrue is willing to take $100M/4 years with the 4th year being a team option, I think we could pull it off. Jrue has done very well with Anthony Davis, and I think he would fit well with KP and Willy. Obviously first is the draft, if the best player/talent is available is a point guard, we may be best served just re-signing Jennings and letting that point guard develop.
So first thing's first, lets see who we draft. Then what happens with a Melo trade. Then after that what's left over and what the roster looks like. Then you can see who we can target in free agency. Just hope that Phil has learned his lesson with Noah/Lee. While Lee was a good get, he is 30+. You won't get enough gas in the tank and defense with older vets. We ned to sign younger free agents. Players that will play defense. RoLo was the type of free agent signing I like. Guys in their athletic prime. Guys with a motor and ability to play on both sides of the ball.
Such a shame Rose turned out to be such a dud move for us, in hindsight we keep RoLo, sign Jennings, and probably end up where we are today anyway without being attached to Noah/Lee longterm. Still would be in the draft lottery, but with a better capspace situation and starting C. By trading for Rose, we went all in for winning now around Melo, and we wound up comitting to Noah/Lee as well. It sucks.
Still at the time, I thought it was a nice risk to take, and Rose stayed far healthier than any of us thought he could be. He has scored exceptionally well. He looks athletic as fuck. Just sucks at passing. Does not play in a team concept well at all as aecond option. Rose is the sort of player that will only do well without Melo. As the main primary ball handler.

Why would Jrue Holiday leave DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis again?

First we need to see them lose, or not do as well. I know many think that was a great move, but I kind of an suspect on whether Cousins/Davis will be a great team. Defensively I see issues. On offense it can work, but Cousins loves to hold the ball. He is like Melo for a big. He will not be an easy guy to insert. I'd be surprised if they made the playoffs.
And the main selling point as I mentioned would be playing with his brother, who we have the early bird rights to, and could keep.

He also was treated very well when his wife was ill by Nola. I don't think he leaves. Also, from a distance the Knicks dysfunctional. I don't know what Justin's opinion of the team is. He has played for other teams so he has some perspective on how organizations are run.
