If we have to deal with it as fans, then so do Rose and whoever else is here. Absolutely no waiving going on from the Knicks. #dealwithit

Yep... we should be cool.
Everyone needs a vacation...
Yep, I'd keep Rose on until the end of the season, partly out of spite towards him and also Thibs, but also because I think he'll help us lose more games so hopefully improve our draft chances.
Rose may have value this summer in a s&t. I doubt it. But I might just let Rose try and score 40 every night.
I do think Phil has to keep Rose because releasing him admits he made a giant mistake.
And I worry that if we keep him through to the summer, we'll super max him.
I agree
as it pertains specifically to Rose, they should reduce his minutes so significantly that his market value plummets. Fuck him and his his handlebars. I know that's usually bad for business but whatevs... everything the Knicks have done this year has been bad for business. Might as well let us get some petty joy out of this
I said this at deadline time
Why do we think we can't tank with this group?
They are 9-25 in their last 34
Good for 2 wins every 10 games
With Melo, Rose and Lee this team will still tank.
I love that Melo has the audacity to complain about what direction management is going when the team itself can not win or defend against anyone decent.
Just get that quality draft pick.
Next year
Lotto pick will be 19-20 age range. KP will be 22. Willy 23. Get a really young starter. Melo wants to stay? Cool. Have the youngest team in the league around him. Rebuild. He can keep putting up all star numbers and we can develop young core players. Go lotto again in 2018, get another hopefully good young player. Then Melo opts out to get a new 3-4 year max deal. Knicks have tons of cap space and lots of good young players.

+1 but I'm not sure Anthony opts out of his last year- I mean I don't see anyone giving him any kind of big money, though I was shocked that D Wade got paid
I think he may get less money that year but he would get a guaranteed 3-4 year deal. He won't pass up on that. He will opt out and look for something like $70M/3 years. Just makes sense for him financially to take the guaranteed money.

We can't tank because players and coaches don't tank but it's alright cause we're still gonna lose plenty of games without trying to lose. I think anyone that thinks we have a shot at getting a lottery pick inside the top 8 or 7 is just wishing more than anything cause although we're bad, we're not as bad as 7 or 8 other teams so we should just hope that either we become that one team that every once in a great while the lottery balls just go their way and our ball gets pulled to be in the top 5 when we're projected to be around 10-12 or we just hope that the right player falls to us in the draft at 10-12. I know we all want a PG and that there's a chance that either one of D.Fox or F.Ntkilina falls to around 10 but if not then a guy like M.Bridges will still be a good pick for us and maybe we can strike gold with a PG with one of our 2nd round picks or we find a way to trade for a mid to late 1st and get a PG there.
I'm a big Melo fan but i also thought it was pretty dumb of him to act like he doesn't understand the direction of the team when we don't make any moves at the trade deadline. Well Melo let me tell you the direction....it's to rebuild around KP damn it and if you won't waive your NTC then you better be ready to play out your final two years with us losing plenty of games and playing with a bunch of young kids around you. I think Melo will be traded around the draft and he had better be ready to add a team or two to his list.
I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say we'll be picking at the 19-20 range in the draft cause we're gonna be picking in the lottery.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can do S&Ts any more- been that was since the lockout.

I love that Melo has the audacity to complain about lack of direction when HE is the one stopping us from going in the direction we want to because he won't agree to a trade!
