Knicks · The fix is in? NBA told refs to call against us in the 4th? (page 1)

KP4Life @ 2/28/2017 7:10 AM
Doesn't it seem like it? Especially these last few tank games. I seriously wonder if phil told them to make us lose.
EnySpree @ 2/28/2017 7:21 AM
So now Phil is in control of the referees now?
matt @ 2/28/2017 9:02 AM
The fix is not in. The Knicks are a bad to awful team.
fitzfarm @ 2/28/2017 9:08 AM
100% agree easy calls that the average fan can see are not being called . That moving screen by Joseph to give derozen the easy layup was disgusting. Especially after Willy was called for a bogus moving screen a few plays before that... rose who drives to the lane more then anyone in the NBA is bottem in the league at going to the line, he should be going to the line just as much as derozen or harden he gets fouled just as much if not more... if he did we'd be talking about a super star
nyk4ever @ 2/28/2017 9:11 AM
what the fuck?
SupremeCommander @ 2/28/2017 9:28 AM
we win by losing so, if that's the case, thank you NBA refs
Sambakick @ 2/28/2017 9:56 AM
This explains all the close losses. I think you're right. I think Phil told the NBA that he wants to lose bigly. Phil's plan is working. Signing all those over-the-hill free agents was smart but when we got off to the 14-10 start Phil had to do something.

Holy F-Ing crap.....where do some of you come up with this stuff?

crzymdups @ 2/28/2017 10:11 AM
There do seem to be a lot of bad calls this year, but I think it is a function of this team playing so many close games. Weirdly, I get the sense that Melo and Rose both like that sort of back and forth game where the lead changes with every basket. We've had more of those this season than any I can remember since the Harper/Oak/Starks/Ewing teams. Except we are terrible at defense. You put yourself in close games like that and the margin for error shrinks to the point where one missed call feels like it can make the difference. But all the bad defensive possessions are also making the difference.

This team has definitely lost like ten games it should have won through some bad defense, bad coaching, bad calls, and bad luck. While it can feel the latter two are against us, the former two are in our control and they've just been bad too many times.

Rose should be getting a lot more calls than he does, and something is up about that.

The moving screen last night - horrible - it was practically a football tackle.

Part of it may be we're a bad team and bad teams don't get calls.

Part of it may be our players are less liked by the refs.

I'd like to see Hornacek go ape shit and toss chairs and stuff onto the court the next time Rose gets hammered on a drive and doesn't get a call, get tossed out and make a statement about how bad the officiating has been.

I think he has. As a coach you can't do it every time cause refs will start to ignore you but Breen and the guys have made note of this over and over and over again.

Melo got a good shot...but there was basically a flagrant foul committed on Lee the last play, and the ref on the baseline should have seen it.

I don't believe in a fix, but there have been some strange, and documented, calls against us.

This one was outrageous.

Wow. Yeah I noticed Melo got wide open from a weird screen. Didn't realize it was such a blatant foul on the Raptors.

At this point in the season, I'd rather have the Loss. But I really do think if you added up these missed calls at the end game, we'd be about the 6th seed right now. It's kind of crazy.

martin @ 2/28/2017 12:18 PM
WOW didn't see that play on Lee, and the ball hadn't been inbounded so it would have been FT and possession?

2 shotsand the ball... any foul on the inbound is 2 shots and the ball

the only thing I can think is the refs saw that as Lee looking to clear Melo for the shot- which did happen. So, I guess I could maybe understand that.

But I would like to see the Knicks document all of this and submit them. Maybe they do. I remember Cuban did that with Dallas.

The Knicks are documenting and sending a thank you note along with it

Come on back in the 80's and 90's thats good D. We had a wide open shot--what else can you ask for? If Lee was on the ground --ok but he wasnt.

that just proves that other teams know the refs are on there side

So if Melo made it but it will be disallowed because of the call called on the screen will it be a better call for Knicks?
Or refs are wrong regardless?
