But when is Phil going to take responsibility??
Can't blame Rose and Melo for KP, but they certainly aren't helping him either. Traditionally, your PG especially is supposed to make life easier for the big men, and get them involved in the offense. That's just basic basketball.
He needs to learn to roll on a pick and roll...He needs to learn to create a passing lane to get the ball..He has to learn to set good picks..Willy does these things with ease and he gets the ball..

Yes to all of that but also KP plays a totally different game from Willy. OFTEN KP is open and isn't getting the ball or gets it late. That is where a good PG or other passer helps.

You guys look at KP so much that you think he should get it every time he is open..But there are other players who are often wide open that don't get the ball as well..You think it's a KP phenomena..

Look you're consistently talking down our young players and talking up Melo. You seem to be unclear about how important these young players actually are versus the importance of Melo at this point. Melo no longer matters. We aren't being led to the finals by Melo at this point. He's simply not what we need to be focused on. KP, Willy, Baker etc. Younger players are what we need to be focused on and they're not bad. If we can bring in another young STUD or two this summer that would be a huge step forward for this franchise's future. I really don't understand your point of view at all. Perhaps you could explain it more fully, cuz I don't get it.

So that's your response? I really don't think you realize how badly you've made your points and how they come across. Like few others who have been taking a very strange defensive mode towards Melo and Rose but seem to think KP needs to be taken down a peg, despite being a 21 yr old. KP, Willy, Baker and the young players are who we need to focus on more and more. Who the F cares about Melo or Rose in terms of our long term future??? Melo has had his time. I'm done with that thinking.

So I would totally welcome more european guys. Shved is a great player overseas. I'd welcome him back... bring Milos Teodosic too. Let's just go for it.
I'll respond to the other stuff but I find it funny you gravitate to a guy like Shved, who is Rose like, without the skills...
Their games are nothing alike. Plus Shved is 6'6". He's really been hitting that three ball in Europe too. So 🤚
3 balls??..I clearly remember him as a pick and roll penetrator of was often injured...He shot 30.6% from the three in the NBA and 40% from the field..
I'm late but I just want to say you are illiterate and ignorant.
I'll rewrite again that he had been hitting the 3 in Europe. I'm not sure if you remember him as a knick but he was really good for us.
Also how can you trash the triangle and praise it at the same time? Alexey is a pick and roll guy but the triangle isn't the pick and roll right? But he sucks except that he actually didn't suck for us #pause.
Anyway go on YouTube and look up Shved highlights in Europe. Then look up stats in Europe. Then look up hooked on phonics... use promo code enyspree for 10% off

He creates his own space with his wide stance and he goes up strong. He reminds me a bit of a more skilled RoLo. He has that kind of slow motion game even tho he's moving it looks like he has no higher gear to his foot speed, but he's hustling like RoLo.Awesome. I haven't watched them much this year. What did you think of Inglis?

KP is 21 and its his 2nd year in the NBA. He's still playing through mistakes and learning. Rose and Melo are singled out as the max franchise type players who have underperformed. Melo's FG% in the 4th qtr tells you he is underperforming and this in a season where we have lost like 15 games by 2 buckets or less. Rose can get to the basket but like Melo totally fails to make others around him better. The best you can get with Rose is garbage points if you follow him to the rim. So sure... the 21 year old sophmore on a rookie contract putting up 18/7 every night does share in the blame. But when you look at the other guys underpeforming it makes your points look... well pointless.
But when is Phil going to take responsibility??
Phil is def at fault. Rose has not adapted well to any kind of system play. Melo was challenged as "still having another level to go" and I think its pretty obvious he's about building his brand, being in NYC and hoisting shots. So thinking Melo would adapt his game to anything besides the chucking its been for the most part of a dozen years was also a failure for Phil. So we will see how long these failures hurt our present and future. So fair Phil's failures have yielded us KP. Another blue chip player in this draft would look nice next to him. Its really funny talking about "winning" and "results" with an Isiah guy but its Monday... lets just pass the time here.
If a few bad years results in a drafted base of talent worth building around than the results are satisfactory for me. Phil needs to execute in this draft in a big way. Phil hasnt been good here, but he *might* have the start of a nice base to move forward with. He should have some options for Melo as his contract isnt as putrid in the new CBA. Everyone wants to be like GS, or even Cle... both those teams floundered long and hard enough to draft elite talent and it didnt happen over night. You may balk at 3 years. Maybe it takes 5. I dont know. I know getting to draft after a bad year is better than NOT getting to draft.

The importance of this draft is in finding the STUD Guard or Wing this team will need going forward!!! This isn't about Melo's Timeline anymore. This has to shift to KP's Timeline now!
Phil gave it one last shot and now he no longer has to cater to Melo.
Grabbing a kid like Jovanovic is a small indication of Phil looking forward IMO! Another big that can score from all over. You know his scouts are looking for that type of player.

I watched some the game against the Redclaws and Jovanovic looked good again. He's active and is a team player. Has a good strong body and hangs around the basket and seems able to hold his own. It's hard to gauge how he'd do against NBA competition but he doesn't seem to be having any problems with DL level talent.
