the nba is getting predictable its 3's and drives with no defense. its time to bring defense back to the NBA.... i think the nba fears that hand checking would destroy stars like curry and thompson and it would make it more challenging for them. would steph turn into dell yea on some nights he is still over all more talented then his father....
that razzal dazzle shot over melo would never happen if the hand checking was in effect players could simply push curry out of his comfort zones...
its time to bring defense back to the nba
That's what YOU and I want as hardcore fans but it would actually be stupid if they did that. They made offense,in the NBA, prominent. Now it's at peak popularity. They won't change that bc they very minority of fans want it.

The NBA's popularity has nothing to do with which rules are in place or weather its a offensive NBA these days... the NBA would have been just as popular in the 90's if our media and Technology were what they are today ... trust me Jordan, Ewing, morning,Barkley,Malone, magic would be blowing up socal media news and hype ... more so then a skinny kid in curry gets today. Curry is just lucky to be playing in today's NBA.
Hand checking would bring back toughness and lock down defense, bad boys style ... heck the knicks went to the chip with hard nose defense and a bad boy mentality. With one three point shooter in starks in the starting line up... let's bring the battle back
Ewing,Oakley,c smith, sharks,Harper were eastern conference champions .... take away hand checking and what is that team a bottem feeder in today's NBA?
We should have the sane rules the rest of the world has. FIBA rules....
Just me saying that it's a total embarrassment. The NBA is soft as Twinkie filling
It's a sideways rule change.

No ... I just want to see some REAL defense around the NBA... hand checking gives every team a chance to win even if you are less talented.
Again the knicks in 94 had a top defensive team, that went to the chip.... there roster was crap offensive wise, one super star in Ewing, oak very limited offensively, Charles smith very limited offensively, starks good two way player but streaky, and a over the hill derrick Harper,
Hubert Davis one dimensional three point shooter who would flourish in today's NBA
Greg Anthony, limited all around player above average defender
Mase, nice two way player but didn't peek till after the knicks traded him
Anthony Bonner, ummmm yikes
Herb, love me mr Williams but he was very limited
Again that team made it to the finals and almost won because you used to be able to defend in the NBA...
That team would be bottem feeders in today's NBA largely because you can't hand check anymore. It eliminates intense peremiter defense... we went from teams winning because of defense and a great offensive schemes. To no defense and run and gun chucking and dunking... it's lame we need to bring defense back... dray is the tough guy today compared to oak and mase is laughable a little boy that would get wrecked by a lot of tough guys of the 90's
One must think why they have flagrant rules now.
To me hand checking was ok, but it also helped lazy players. Gone also are the fat guys.
While purists or the guy that likes to "remember the good old days" might enjoy good defensive games, the low scoring games made for bad ratings which made for less money, or less satisfaction from the viewing public.
I for one enjoy good defense, but 73-69 finals scores were not always pretty games to watch either.
I'd say that teams that play good defense under the current rules still matter.
Never forget this. While defense is still super important and 140-130 games suck (IMO) timely and sound offense, especially in the half-court, is still important. If you don't have a productive offense and rely only on defense, then IMO, you aren't going far past the 2nd round.
Michael Jordan had no problem playing epic with hand check rules.

Hand check would not stop Lebron. Tiny Archibald got killed in the lane, he was 6-1 and skinny.
Earl Monroe was rail thin.
I miss 90's basketball. We've already seen the best, most competitive basketball we'll ever see brothers. Sigh.
