I'm thrilled but pissed we even bothered to beat the Magic, Pacers and Spurs the first time. Had we done so, we'd have that 4th spot outright. Now, if everything holds we'll have to break the tie by means outside of our control.
Don't forget we play the Sixers last game of the season. My worry is one unexpected win at any point and we're all the way down to 8th- going to be a nerve racking few weeks.
Also Kings and Twolves play vs each other, so one of them will have to add on at least 1 win. Also Kings have a game vs the Lakers and Suns, both of which are tanking bad.
Looks like we could just about manage one more win, and still finish 5th, but I don't want to take the risk

Those Nets games against the Magic and Sixers are huge. Same for the Kings games against the Suns and Lakers.

Very good points. Based on what you posted, I think that the Knicks have a reasonable shot at falling no lower than 5th since the Kings and Sixers should win one more game this season with the number and types of sub-.500 teams they'll be playing. Outtanking the Magic might be the issue because I can't see them beating a healthy Nets team that has no interest in losing games. So if everything holds, I think they win the tie breaker since they have a 1-3 record against us this season.
I'm actually a bit worried about the Pistons game! The Knicks could win that one which would suck at this point.

Can't change the past. Th he good thing about it, is that it's behind us.
Need to execute to plan minimize wins and maximize the odds in the lottery.
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW
Seriously can't believe what I just witnessed!
Kings just came back from an 18 point 4th quarter defecit to beat the Clippers in LA.
WTF???? they move to 28-45!!!!
With 9.57 left the Clippers led 85-67.
The Kings went on a 30-11 run to win by 1. Unreal.

WOOOOOOOOOOO! I had ZERO belief in the Kings winning so I didn't even pay any attention to the game. This is GREAT NEWS!!!
Now watch us go and beat the Pistons

It's VERY possible the Knicks win that Pistons game. I'm not too confident in the Pistons winning on the road.

Still a 3 way tie for fourth with Orlando and Philly..... Hornecek needs to play the machine tomorrow.......

Pistons have been playing like CRAP lately. We need them to snap out of it tomorrow. As bad as the Knicks have been we all know they can still win a game if the other team isn't on point. This is the frustrating thing about all of this. Until we can lose enough to get a little breathing room one WIN can really hurt.

They're 1 game back of the 8th seed, so they desperately need a win and we desperately need a loss. I'm hoping the basketball gods smile on us. Also, they beat us by 20 like two weeks ago.
The Kings finally win...against the aclippers!!
Now let's go lose to the pistons
Great the the Kings won, but I am concerned about the Nets re-surgence now Lin is back- we really need them to lose games vs the Magic and Sixers. Unfortunately the Nets have no reason to tank, whilst those two teams do.
I too am anticipating a win vs Detroit
This week worries me. With a rested and fresh Carmelo, we can certainly beat a Detroit team who is on a downward trend. Then we have a home-and-home against a Miami team which is crushed with injuries. I'm really worried about a 2-1 week. 0-3 would be greedy, but 1-2 would be right on track.

This is honestly the most nerve-racking stint I've experienced as a Knick fan since that 1999 season when we only just sneaked into the playoffs in the last few games.
Ruh-roh - if the Kings hire Hinkie, they definitely aren't winning another game this season!
