If we keep playing Melo in these futile games he's going to totally waive his NTC
It's weird - Neither Boston nor Lakers really need a PG. Work the phones Steve

I could see Boston taking a PG. are they really gonna pay Isaiah Thomas the max at 28/29yrs old? They have like a free top three pick. Getting their point guard of the future would be a tremendous boon for them. I could see Fultz really fitting there.

Yeah Boston can just go BPA all day cuz they have a wealth of young prospects and picks. They don't have to do anything complicated. Just reap the harvest!

Anything is possible. But after the type of season they are having it would be really hard to draft a replacement for the guy who is basically just entering his prime. I mean they are borderline contenders right now. Trading the pick for Melo or Paul George maybe a higher preventable move, especially if they come real close to beating the Cavs.
so we have a shot at the 4th slot and could fudge things up and end up at 9?
This may be a deep draft, but huge difference in potential impact of talent from 4 to 9. Sure, you can get lucky and be smart, but would rather hope and pray that we don't have to rely on our FO to be smart and lucky. We can argue the former, but have to agree on the latter.

Gotta hand it to Boston. They had their nice run with KG/Pierce/Rondo BUT they knew it was time to rebuild. they took advantage of a desperate Nets team and now they have and good present and a good future

The talent level is roughly equal at #1 and down to #6 or #7. Within that range, i dont really care where we pick, sure there we'd have a pick at a potentially fantastic player to be psyched about.
Let's hope the Heat repeat on their home floor and mop the hardwood with the Knicks. Now that NYK are officially eliminated from playoffs, Horny should really sit Melo and Rose from here on out, or at least play them under 15 mins. We NEED to lose out the remainder of our games. No BS.
If they try to win at this stage, it's intentionally sabotaging the future.

My thoughts exactly
Yeah it's over! Just play the kids like a normal losing team in the Lottery would do! There's no point to playing the vets at this point. Let's see what some of these kids can do in preparation for the offseason. Gotta see who should stay or make room for new prospects.
Minnesota hosts the Lakers tonight. Not monumental for the Knicks tank, since we have a 2 game cushion on them. But nice to have a 2.5 game cushion with these final games remaining.
Tank update:
4) Magic 27-48
Nets x 2
5) Knicks 28-47
Sixers
6) Sixers 28-47
Nets, Knicks
7) Kings 29-46
Pelicans, Twolves, Mavs, Lakers, Suns
8) Twolves 30-44
Lakers, Kings, Blazers
9) Mavs 31-43
Nets, Kings
10) Pelicans 32-43
Kings, Lakers, Blazers

Lakers and Suns are battling it out for the 2nd spot, so you have to hope the Kings win those two. Still comes down to those Nets games vs the magic and sixers. I don't want to be tied with the sixers, because i don't trust us to lose that last game vs them.
Tank night USA - the Kings go into New Orleans for their Boogie revenge game. Could see the Kings winning that.
Also Sixers play a struggling Cavs team. Cavs are such a mess right now you never know. Orlando plays Boston which is probably a loss.
We need the magic to win one. Still so upset with our meaningless win
Time to crank up and oil the tank machine.
3 hours till game time.
Covington and Okafor out for season. I don't feel like Okafor was playing much anyway, but Covington was playing really well for Philly.

wow. Isn't it weird, if you had to guess which player would have been more durable between Okafor and KP, who would have thought OK4 could barely get to 50 games a season?

Yeah and all the more reason to let KP mature at a reasonable pace. There's always a desire by some to want kids to pack on muscle or weight and some guys get hurt doing that. KP doesn't have to be a banger. I look at KG and Dirk who never bulked up but just got functionally stronger.

I don't see anyone winning tonight out of us, Magic, 76ers and Kings tonight. I think its going to be an as you were. Magic at Brooklyn tomorrow looks like the 'big' game for us this weekend.
