Just validates the pick of Willy and his value. Phil did a good thing getting that pick and selecting Willy. We need more picks like that.

Also, how bad was the last draft class? Three of the top 4 guys were taken in other drafts and Brogdon was a second rounder.

Saric is putting up big numbers. Willy could be doing the same if he was getting the minutes. Still I have no complaints about how they are bringing him along.

2nd half 10ppg, 9rebs, 24mins. Thats about what I expect moving forward which is a fantastic rookie campaign. He really looks like a building block player. At the very worse a good offensive player who can also hit the glass. He sure does look like he could be from the Gasol family.

Willy is so good. I would take him over OK4.

Willy is like getting a lottery pick in the 2016 draft.

I'll admit when we took him, I thought it was solely to help Porzingis adjust to the league/US by promising to bring over his teammate and friend. Never expected for him to look as good as he has.

Agreed, which has to sting even more for Philly considering Willy was their pick.

Yet people act like Phil is the worst executive in Knicks history

Phil's moves have not been good and record has stunk. In a few years if he's responsible for building a core of talent that carries us for several years people will look back at this stretch and realize it needed to happen. If these guys dont turn out to be very good and Phil is gone and its several years under the next GM before we start winning than Phil was just another starphuck failure.

Despite the losing and the Media taking shots every day, I wouldn't change how things have gone. As they say sometimes it's better to be Lucky than Good. We flopped HARD in the only 2 years when we had our 1st rd pick. Not the original goal but it could work out in our favor cuz you have to be bad long enough to draft your CORE players. Steph, Klay and Draymond or Wall and Beal are picks that worked out and we have to hope we can draft some key players for the franchise to have a better future. After that you can sign FA's to get to the next level, but you have to have a base of talent already.

And we didn't have a pick in the first round. We came out pretty good considering

We were BLESSED 2 times in KP and Willy. That ordinarily would not work out for the Knicks, but it did this time. Dropping in the draft and we still got KP. Things haven't worked with our FA signings and big deals but now here we are with a chance at another top pick in the draft. So i'm not looking a Gift Horse in the mouth. Just roll with it.

If you count Chasson Randle, Baker and Plumlee then the Knicks really racked up. Even Ndour is originally our player. Not everyone has panned out but we have to continue to find guys that will stick. We don't have time for another Cleananthony and Grant... or that french kid we stashed. We need guys to stick
