Briggs just last week you hated fox. What changed ?

I think the last 3 games hes shown much more game. Hes great defensively and with his speed it can help the KNicks. Hes a top 5 pick no question. I think the top 5 are separated--I dont put Smith in there. Tatum Ball Fox Jackson Fultz--if I had pick 6 Id likely take Smith but I think hes kind of wild. Id also look at other options. But top 5 Id take the pick.

He has shown the same thing all year. His defense, playmaking, and ability to get to the basket at will has been on display all season. The difference has been he is making a few shots, which i told you in the draft thread he is a better shooter than his numbers show. His form is sound and he makes his free throws, which are 2 indicators that it's more about confidence than anything. You were convinced we could not pick a PG that isn't a good 3pt shooter. I really think you should spent time forming your opinions and stick to them, instead of flip flopping every day. I will continue to stick by the fact that Fox would be a great pick, although right now i would still select Ntilikina over him. Ntilikina has more size, shooting, and is the best defensive guard in the draft. I believe he would be in the top 5 mix if he were playing in college. But you can't go wrong with either player.

Wow didn't know about his defensive prowess

Porter would be a great pick up but the thing is one could draft this type of player and sign one as a free agent. Im over simplifying but a productive rookie on a rookie salary is important. A team can draft, and sign a free agent if unrestricted. If porter wants, he can sign for one year or ask for a trade if he felt Wiz would not pay him.

Flexibility is the most important thing to hang onto right now.
If we can add another young component to KP, Willy at a low cost it's important. We are saddled with Noah's contract and there are plenty of teams that would like Courtney Lee. Pelicans would surely take him.
Porter doesn't make us a contender so no reason to trade a young asset.

No way I trade the pick. It's a lower salary slot and potential to be better than Otto

Not to mention, no way in hell the Wizards part ways for him for a draft pick. He is a critical piece to their championship aspirations. They're not nearly the same team without his contributions.

Its very hard to find this type of contributor Nalod. Given his minutes played. His TS,WS,VORP are all among the highest of non franchise players. Mostly centers like Gobert and Jordan put up comparable advanced stats while not being considered the franchise players though Gobert may be considered by Utah.

Yeah he's got major defensive potential. 6'5 with nearly 7'0 wingspan. He's athletic, good bball IQ, and will be able to guard the 1,2, and 3 when he fills out. All reports are his defensive instincts are incredible. He has all-defensive team potential.

They will be at 92mil cap next year before signing Potter to max. They traded their first round pick for Bogdonovic who may have been brought in as Potter insurance. They need to get youth in their front court as Gortat is 33 with 2 years left on his deal. Moving Porter for an upgrade in the front court while sliding Bogdonovic in at SF may be the best long term answer they have.

yup. our history on trading away picks is not very good.

Isnt Porter a restricted FA this offseason? Maybe worth a gamble signing him to an offer sheet, and even if we dont get him, we'd at least poison the well for the Wizards.
