When looking for guys that can play defense, move the ball, and hit the 3. These 2 guys seem to be of the rare few in that mold. I don't really watch a lot of college bball. So i'm going mostly by scouting reports and stats. Can the college Bball heads please give me a run down on these 2.
Josh Hart is especially intriguing. And seems like the type of player we NEED. High IQ, defense, makes the right passes, hits shots. Iwunda 6'7 wing with a 7ft wing span. Said to have major defensive potential. But whats impressive is being a defensive player who also held a 24% and 22% ast % to 21 & 22 usage. He developed a 3 point shot this season with 2.4 attempts at 36%. Though its only one year of data for the 3s.
Both are college seniors. Seem to play within themselves and be the type of players that will fit what we are trying to do here. We desperately need defense and ball moving.
I can see players like that being targets for the Knicks. Solid, smart, tough, team players are needed to fill out the roster.
Completely agree. Hart could be a good get if we buy a late 1st/early 2nd round. Iwunda might be had in the range of our first 2nd round pick. These are the type of wings you take and hope at least 1 pans out and becomes a valuable role player. The upside isn't there, so they will fly under the radar. But it's easy to see these guys have potential to be solid role players.

They can be high level role players. Its very hard to find players that can generate ast, plus shoot, plus defend. Usually you are happy with just a 3-D guy. But players that can help your team in these 3 ways without being ball dominant is a must for us and have to be targeted. Because they are rare type of role players.

I agree, but there is no definite that those players can translate all of those skills to the NBA level. But i agree they do a lot of things well, so hopefully most of it translates.

That's a good point. As Hart's ability to create seems new and Iwunda's ability to shoot 3s seems new. So Hart can end up regulating into a 3-D guy. Iwunda I believe creating is apart of his game. But is a possibility he may fall off when it come to shooting. Both will probably bring effort defensively though in order to get mins.
I think Hart could be another Brogdon type steal. I'm not sure if he'll be as good of a passer but I think his defense and scoring will translate. The guy has never shot under 50% from the field in 4 yrs and his lowest 2pg FG% in his career was 55.8%. There are big men who are drafted in the lottery that never shot that well.
Might be able to trade KOQ and Kuz for a late pick in the first round to grab Hart. I like him as a starter going forward. Needs to work on his jumper but guy can really defend and is high character.
If we get lucky and can secure a lead guard early in the lottery this could really accelerate the rebuild.
I love Josh Hart's game. Would love to snag him in the second round.

The Knicks need to trade O'quinn to Toronto and grab Hart aka baby wade.
Hart is a plug and play guy. He's going to be ready right away. If w don't get him I won't be surprised if San Antonio did.

Yes! And his defense rating per 100 possessions has been under 100 all years. Has been rated in the 94s the last 3 years.
