At least we know that they'll be looking to work on our biggest weakness this off season which is defense.

So who do you think become the most likely off-season targets?

I think Jrue Holiday will be a top focus. He plays both sides of the ball and play them well and can shoot and drive to the basket. He'd be a great addition along with keeping his brother. I know he has a injury history but he's too good when healthy to let that get in the way of getting him. We need guys who play hard on defense which will rub off on the guys that don't cause when they're on the court with other players that are playing hard on defense it'll make them try harder on D.
I also really like G.Hill who also play hard defense.

I doubt we get Holiday or Hill. Trying to understand the more underrated role players who would fit the bill.
we already have Noah, but we could use a rugged PF that has strength, can guard the post & rebound at a high rate.
I would almost say a DeMarre Carroll- he's a bit too old, but if you could get Toronto to dump him to us, it would almost be an upgrade if you think he & our draft choice would be replace D Rose.
And not trying to be snarky - but if they're going to focus on defense, maybe an upgrade in the coaching staff vis a vis Rambis.
I think that Make Josh Jackson and Frank Ntilikina the draft priorities

Most likely. And Fox, if they like him as a PG in the offense.

I think MOST of the issue is the actual personnel. You put a top defensive player on the floor he's going to do what he does just like a scorer. People underestimate defensive talent too. A guard with great lateral quickness that can stay in front of his man is much easier to teach proper defense to than a guy that struggles to be able to move quick enough for technique to matter.
I like Fox a lot because of his extraordinary Fast Twitch ability. I think you can work with his raw talent. He can Dig and get back effectively. He can pressure the ball before you get to the PnR and make it harder to execute. We need to look for players that have great defensive potential already. Justin Jackson impressed me with his defense on Monk. There will be 2 Way talent available for this team in the draft and even Free Agency.

Who in free agency? Like we got money but I'm not feeling anyone as a 2 way player that the Knicks could legit get
If there's a way to get Winslow from the heat....a guy can dream

Rose is so bad that literally just about anyone would be an improvement in terms of defense. Rose has a defensive rating of 115 and doesn't even crack the top 40 in +/-. To me it looks like he just doesn't have the lateral quickness anymore. Either that or his effort is extremely poor.

sure... maybe a guy like Thibs? So he can duplicate here what he's done in Sota? Like that?

I too, doubt the twin-tower Pelicans are going to let Holiday go anywhere for a long time .. curious to know if the Pelicans gave up their 2017 first round pick for Cousins?
The best move the Utah Jazz made in the offseason were adding Hill to their roster to get the rotation to play same-page ball .. the Pacers performance drop a level or two down this season without PG Hill play-making.
Hornacek wanna coach defense next season LOL .. make u think Horn were in on the TANKING from day one.
We showed no form of defense throughout this season .. one of the biggest reason why Noah n Jennings did not want to play for the the Knicks this season.

IMO you need defensive talent in addition to coaching. We don't have a lot of defensive talent and a lot of the younger players were still learning and making mistakes. This is no different than what Thibs is going thru with his younger players in Minnesota!!!
There's been some signs of progress but it's going to take more time and an influx of more defensive talent to make more progress. It's not just coaching.
I like the statement but talk is cheap
he needs players and he needs to hold them accountable. If you don't move your feet, get in your opponent's grill, box out, etc. sit on the pine and watch someone else who will do that. It's that simple. it's not about blocked shot and steals; it's about making their shots tougher

Thibs is happily employed.
I was thinking more like Mike Woodson
Full circle baby!
How about changing the defensive system and stop ignoring the 3 point line because its a 35% shot avg

I wouldn't be surprise if the Pelicans target in the offseason was Justin Holiday to sign tandem brothers chemistry in the backcourt for the twin-towers next season.
Justin Holiday's performance were more of a SG keeper than Lee's inconsistent performance
George Hill's performance improve a lot of the Jazz players performance in one season .....

The problem is that we're easily broken down which causes players to have to give help and that leads to a lot of late recovery back to shooters. What we need is better on ball D at the point of attack and more speed overall to be able to get back to shooters.
