Chicago could sign and trade Rondo to the Clippers for CP3...
The Bulls want to get rid of Butler... Maybe they ship him for Melo?
That's just one scenerio... there's ways the Bulls could get Melo without trading Butler. The bulls have plenty of young players, so they could just rebuild. Or they can Starphuch...

Why would the Bulls want to part with Butler? If so, I'd LOVE that idea. I'd even give them back their second rounder and throw in KoQ or Kuz to make it happen.

Clippers can't get Melo and Wade without trading Blake. They don't have enough picks or young players either. Chicago has all of the moveable pieces to make it happen.

It would be a godsend to the Knicks for us to get something of real value for Melo. Butler is a fucking stud. Would dramatically rev-up our rebuild. Add in Lonzo Ball or DFox and we'd have something.
Heck I'd give the Bulls Lee+Melo+2nd rounder for Butler and trash if they wanted.

That's what we'll need to happen. Every time you look at it it well make more sense. Even looking at it from the Clippers side. They lose CP3 but get Rondo and whoever else takes the ride. Not sure how sign and trades rules changed with the new contract. Should be straight forward.
We'd have to give them Melo and a high draft pick I'll bet. I think I'd be up for it. He's a top 5 SG, maybe better, and plays monster D. We would really be onto something then.
I'd offer the 2020 protected to 5, but not really interested in giving away up coming picks. Carmelo Anthony ain't exactly pocket change.

It works best un chicago. Wade is already getting paid. Melo is still under contract... cp3 would be signed and traded so they all would be making around the same. Cp3 actually would get more in the sign and trade at like 28 million. The salary cap is larger than in the past so it actually fits under the cap.
It doesn't work for the clippers cuz they would have to trade Blake and gut the roster for wade and Melo. Not a good look

could be and he has, if I'm not mistaken, taken slightly less money at times to accomodate.
But if you had a chance to play with Paul, Melo, Blake and Jordan, I'd pay $20M to be part of that. And in LA? Miami is nice, but nothing compared to LA. I would love to see it happen. It's hard, especially with Melo and his trade kicker.
