Knicks · This guy reminds me a kot of Jae Crowder--he will be one of the draft steals (page 1)

Was looking at him on one of the draft sites yesterday.

Interesting player...kind of a tweener. Older, but his age fits nicely with KP and Willy.

If he can somehow show he can play D at the 3 in team workouts, his stock will go up.

Our #2s are later picks...not sure we can use them to move up into the later first round to get a guy like this or someone else we like.

Lee and KOQ have some trade value...wonder if they might be used on draft night...

I was talking about the need to add a player like Semi. We need an athletic power player at forward. We lack that kind of impose your will kind of player on the roster. I was also looking at Nigel Hayes.

Much more likely to get Hayes if we want this kind of player. If Jackson is truly committed to the Triangle, Hayes might be a good fit, as he's played in a disciplined offense with Wisconsin.

Yeah, we'll need another first to have a chance at Semi. Hayes is a steal if you can get him to extend his range.

The problem with hayes is hes not that skilled as a shooter. Hes way below a reasonable threshold and he doesnt have the ability to take guys off the dribble or finish with explosion. So you have a guy with good basketball smarts good attitude strong build BUT lacks one pure skill to set him apart in the nBA. If you cant shoot and your smallish in length--thats not a place to be.

Id take Semi in rd #2 where we got Willy. Id let Hayes on the summer roster if he misses being picked. Im big on John Collins if we move up to rd #1. Like I said on the draft thread a Lonzo Ball Collins Ojeyle Dorsey draft would be spectacular. Athletic 4 athletic 3 perhaps a game changing PG and one of the true pure 3 point shooters in this draft.

Yeah Semi would be my pick of the two. But I don't think he lasts to round 2. You snatch him up quickly if he does. Collins is too far down or two far up from where we're picking, unless we can trade down. I'm not big on ball, but I think we might be able to key in on Dorsey with one of our 2s.

i agree. good player that could go in 1st rd
mendoza1906 @ 4/4/2017 11:00 PM
he plays more above the rim than Jae Crowder. but I can see the similarities. Both are very good athletes, lock down defenders and both can knock down the 3 pointer

Slightly off topic but how do u guys feel about ndour?

Several times this year I heard Breen and others say the Knicks brass is high on him for his defense.

He's not rugged like crowder but he's probably quicker.

Thoughts?

On topic: I don't know this player but the idea of adding players who play purposeful defense is great

Vmart @ 4/5/2017 7:57 AM
I got to see a game that Semi played in he is a good pick. He has a NBA body and he hustles. He works hard in both ends. I can see San Antonio picking him up at end of the round maybe even Marvericks somewhere.
Finestrg @ 4/5/2017 11:41 AM
Just curious -- what do we all think of Mo Ndour, seriously? I've always liked him. I think he could be a more valuable player for us over Kuz possibly. I mean anyone else see some Jae Crowder here with this guy? And forget the hairstyle -- that's just coincidence. It's got nothing to do with the hair. It's similar style of play, similar two-way ability. Both hybrid forwards...Go look at some tape of Ndour -- he can even shoot it with range like Crowder. Crowder might be a little heavier but I see some similarities. I know the 13 pts came in a meaningless game where the Bulls played like shit & a lot if it came in garbage time, but I liked what I saw from him. He's worth keeping around and developing. I think he could get to Jae Crowder's level. Why not? I understand Crowder's developed nicely and is ahead of expectations but why couldn't Ndour get there as well? The ability's there -- I thought that going into SL a couple of years ago and then poof, we lost him to Cuban. He's intriguing to me. The potential's there for a good two-way rotation player at possibly 3 positions.

He is a disruptor on D, and uses his jumping and wingspan to compete down low. Mentioned this yesterday...he is not unlike Phil Jackson on the defensive end.

He really needs to do what Lance did a few years ago...work on his J. As soon as the season ends...maybe even work with Hornacek on his shooting form...then take at least 500 jump shots a day until the next season. Knowing you can shoot makes you a more confident decision maker. He had some open midrange shots that he hesitated on yesterday...with confidence in his shot he takes them and makes them.

I like his energy...he might even be too hyper at times.

Me? I'd start Baker, Holiday, Kuz, Ndour, and Plumlee the rest of the season...give them 35 minutes a game, and Randle about 25MPG.

I know what everyone else can do-nobody has to prove themselves to me, and Willy has hit a wall.

We really don't want to win another game the rest of the year.
