Knicks are executing much better, guys just look like they are playing in a system now
I agree. They're executing the offense well the last few games. The motion offense looks good and the D is much better. Huge improvement. But the East is still really weak. Beating teams like Miami, Chicago, Det, and almost Wash all with something to play for. It's a joke.
sums up the entire season, another 3 point loss

Thank you Melo for missing another last second clutch shot and keeping our ping pong balls in tact.
Good game and we preserved the tank.
THANK GOD!!! I thought that 3 was going in. Good hard fought game and a LOSS! I know it's hard to root against your team but we really do need to try and get as many Lotto Balls as possible.
The Knicks are at least showing that with the players buying in the Triangle should not be a problem. Hopefully we can upgrade the roster with some good 2 way talent.

Agreed. They're finally running the offense well and competing hard on defense with less talent. Outside of Cleveland and Boston, the East is wide open if we can upgrade the talent in the draft and free agency. The rebuild might now take as long.
NY Knicks mantra rest of season: Compete, be entertaining and lose close games.

Yup...
Was going crazy watching Sasha nearly carry the team to victory.
If Holiday hadn't been asleep on the inbounds play we might have won.
Glad its not another end to the season with scrubs on parade. Knicks have some good, young, players worth bringing back.

Detroit are nowhere near the playoffs. They're 11th in tank standings and are still trying to tank.
Bulls and Miami arn't any worse than Denver, Portland or Memphis.
Proud of our team, still fighting and improving. Putting on a good show for the fans. I have to say, this season was a mess, but the officiating in our games has been worse than anything I've ever seen in any sport. We've been raped by the refs all season, night in night out, some more than others. Now I'm glad we lost and it looks like we're safely at six, but it would be nice to get a little less hate from the zebras next year.
I agree. Caught this game at the bar so my focus wasn't always the best or on the game, but the Knicks continue to play good for a team in a tank/rebuilding situation that is starting 2-3 rookies as well as playing lots of D league talent in their rotation.
I think replacing Rose with Baker has not hurt as much at all. Very surprising. Baker makes the right play. He's a really smart basketball player. Very tough and plays hard on defense. He looks like a D league guy in some games, but in all but one game since the Rose injury, he has looked like a starter, especially if he adds a 3 point shot. I can not believe I am saying this, but if we can go out and get a high scoring good shooting 2, and we are running the Triangle, Baker may be a decent cheap option as a starter. Low investment. If we draft Ntlinkina which is a very likely scenario, he can come off the bench while Ron continues to start. Randle the third point.
I don't know if the way we run the offense we even need to go all out for a point guard. We need to get more talent for sure, but we could use at 2 or 3 as well (assuming Melo is moved). I don't think if we're running the Triangle next year if we truly need a better point guard than Baker. Again, this is only if we are able to upgrade at 2 in a way that the 2 guard is the higher usage guard, and Baker's main job would be to set the offense up and do the things he is doing now. Baker needs to also work on his jumpshot from outside all summer. I really like his IQ and defensive effort. Every team needs a player like that.
I think if the team runs the offense and plays the same way they have since the all-star break, the point guard position will be fine with Baker, Randle and a veteran PG (or if we draft Ntlinkina we go with that 3 man PG rotation with Baker able to slide to 2 sometimes.
Go all out and invest in upgrades at 3 and 2. Get athletic, defensive, talented players there.
