Ultimately that is what Phil is doing. Some fans and the Media don't see it. The Media and former players now in the Media are prone to take sides against Phil and for the player like Melo. Doesn't mean they're right.

We need to finally try to build this right. Aside from a brief period in the 54 win season nothing has worked with Melo here in NY. Time to see what life is like Minus Melo or at least a reduced role for Melo. We've gotta build a complete team.

If Phil was trying to build something real and lasting, then he should NOT be investing big money in guys like Calderon, Lee, and injury prone players like Noah and Rose. They are the opposite of lasting since they have being declining for years. And then Phil trades the little young players we had in Shump, Hardaway and Grant. Now don’t get me wrong may be Phil and Dolan decide to go NOW into rebuilding mode but make no mistake, that was not the intent in the past.

Obviously neither Noah nor Rose are part of the equation when talking about long term build. They are here for the PRESENT but Phil has in fact been working on adding younger players to the mix. The roster doesn't have to be full of only 20 yr olds for there to be a meaningful long term build under way.

There should always be a mix of vets and younger players. I don't expect that we'll have a team full of kids and no vet experience. The youngest guys will be KP, Willy and our 1st rd Draft pick. Most likely everyone else will be a little older.

You know the Knicks could get veteran experience for a lot less than 100 million dollars right? I would think. And as far as I know, Noah was signed to a 4 year deal, that sound like long term commitment to me.

ONE GUY!!! You seem to be overstating the issue. Noah isn't a problem in terms of the team adding Drafted young players. It doesn't change the fact that the core of this team wil be younger and future based.
