It is time for a regime change from top to bottom. I'm tired of Dolan and Phil drama. To be honest this is the worst place in the world to be so dumb to be at the headlines for just flat out being a jackass. Here is my proposal:
Hire Mark Jackson. He is a NYer who just gets it. I've heard rumors why he hasn't gotten another opportunity (didn't hire the best people around him) but the guys track record, not only speaks for itself but it's exactly what we need.
- He took a Golden State team, unloaded contraces and started from scratch.
- Drafted amazing talent in Curry, Klay, Dramond, Barnes and another solid pick in Ezeli
- His players love playing for him
- He changed the offense completely, had a plan from day one and executed it.
- He is great with the media and he is the big personality that we need
Fact of the matter is we need a change in culture. Enough with hiring people that have never done it before.
Mark Jackson gets my vote for Phil Job and Horn Job .... Mark has been talking about how to rebuild a winning Knicks club since 2006-7 season.

Jackson was the GM? didn't realize this
Brehs Mark Jackson known homophobia is not going to have him last as a head coach of a NYC team. Just let it go
People keep taking about drama..... where is the drama? We need to fire everyone from top to bottom? Nothing is going on in that franchise at the moment that warrents wholesale changes....
Again what drama? All the drama is media and fan driven. Phil makes a post that he said was blown out of proportion yet that post is the source of all the "drama"... one single tweet. Dolan hasn't done anything wrong aside from the way he handled the oakley situation... that has nothing to do withn the state of the current team. People keep accusing Phil of talking through Rosen.... That's total garbage. Rosen writes the same stuff we say every day on the forum.
So save it. The only drama is in your imagination. The Knicks are in a full blown rebuild. Get off it already

Oh no not this again. Dolan made it very clear that he's gonna keep Phil for the contract he signed him to so unless Phil quits, which won't happen, Phil will be here for the rest of his contract.
Phil is actually close to having things very settled. He's got a coach that is receptive to him and what he's trying to do. Jeff seems happy. The players on the team seems happy minus BJ and Rose plus with Melo looking like he may ask to be traded. There is no team drama.
Mark Jackson talks a good game and stops there
Kerr had the same team and took it from good to spectacular as a rookie coach. Nuff said
Success takes time and patience And even a 20 year old unicorn knows there will be bumps in the road

Keeping phil for 2 more years is the smart thing. He couldn't do a full rebuild with only 1 1st round pick in 3 years, so he was limited with options. He has failed to build a winner but has the start of a good young core despite limited resources up to this point. Now that he has 1st round picks to work with, he should be allowed to build a team with them for the last 2 years of his contract. Not saying it's going to work, but he is owed the opportunity. It's like the situation in Brooklyn. Those guys need to be given 5 years minimum to turn that thing around, seeing how they have no lottery picks for 3 years. It's unfair to judge them with no resources, just like phil.

I'll take this one at face value
Mark Jackson has ZERO experience in an NBA front office. Curry was drafted in a regime previous to Jackson's involvement with the Warriors. Curry even predates IIRC Jerry West and Bob Myers ( the actual Warriors GM)
Second issue, is in the modern era of pro sports history, DUAL head coaches/GMs almost never work out. Even Bill Belichick who is a douchebag, but an elite head coach, has had some real boners as GM of the Patriots in terms of drafting. The methodologies are too conflicting ( a head coach has to think about right now, winning right now, a GM has to think 2-5 years down the road with each decision) When you have SEPARATE roles, then the compromise formed creates a balance. Thinking about right now but thinking about the future as well.
Even if Jackson had experience as an NBA GM, making him a headcoach/GM would be trouble in the making. It's creating a plan to fail instead of a plan to succeed.
Would he be a good NBA head coach for the Knicks? I think that poses an interesting question. One of the complications is that Curry is a consummate team player. He could play and play well for any coach and in any system. Even Don Nelson admitted that Curry as a rookie exceeded all his expectations of what a rookie could be and perform and prepare like a veteran player.
The Knicks keep going on the path they are on ( just plain open dysfunction) then I think someone like Jackson ( troubled past, issues) who needs a 2nd chance might end up being an actual option. I'd prefer to stay away from Jackson, but if Phil and Melo keep driving this team into the ground, it might end up a reality.
